Chapter 4

"Excuse me? I'm a usurper? As far as I remember, you and my HUSBAND weren't in a relationship in the past. You can't even come close to him, so how did you two become girlfriend and boyfriend? How did I become a usurper, huh?" I raised my eyebrows and asked her.

"It just-- whatever! You two are not meant to be! You're going to break up soon so just enjoy yourself first--"

"Uhm, as I remember you've been telling me that but it's not happening? Is that your biggest wish every Christmas or maybe on your birthday? How sad because your wish, the wish of all of you, will never come true. It's better to find your own happiness so you don't become bitter and destroy other's relationships!"

Because of annoyance, I immediately ended the video call. I know she is very annoyed with me, Dana's face can't be painted right now I guess.

I closed my eyes tightly and patted my chest. "Keep calm there hearty, they say let the haters hate. Ignore them period!"

I first clean the mess here for a while then took the laundry inside our room. The bathroom inside is big but I prefer to wash outside, near the pool. I'm more comfortable doing this and it brings me back to the past, this is me washing clothes in a river.

I was already carrying our clothes and because I was a little stupid, I suddenly tripped and fell. "O-ouch..." I groaned softly.

I slowly stood up and took the stuff that is hanging on my head. "Oh my god! Why did you land on my head huh? You're squirming like Elthon!" I talked about it in hubby's brief.

When I got outside, I fumbled for my cell phone in my pocket because it suddenly rang. I immediately answered it when I saw that it was Elthon who was calling.

"Hello--"

[Let's video call!] He only said and hung up on me.

I went online and just a few seconds later he made a video call with me

[Wife! I miss you!] He looked at me and frowned.

"I miss you too!" I said and imitated him.

[What are you doing now wife?]

"I was supposed to be doing laundry, suddenly you're making a video call with me." I sat on the grass first.

[Why? Am I not allowed to video call my wife? You must be doing a video call with someone else!] He looked at me but his lips were still frowning.

"Gosh, Elthon you're jealous of nothing. I'm not crazy enough to look for someone else when someone like you became my husband, huh?"

"I'm already lucky with you, then why would I dare to look for someone else," I added.

It suddenly became quiet and just bowed but I could still clearly see its ear-to-ear smile.

Between the two of us, he's the one who gets jealous easily, I sometimes get confused as to which one of us is the girl. It's just his thoughts are more girly than I do. It's just a simple word that it's easy to flutter him and when he sulks, I just hug him or kiss him and we're okay.

"Are you flattered? You're blushing Elthon I can see it." I said in a teasing way.

[The longer it goes on, the more I fall for you, wife.] I closed my mouth, trying not to let it be known that I was now the one who was flattered.

"Me too," I covered my face because of him and when I looked at him, he was the same.

We are really like fools sometimes, until now the thrill between the two of us has not disappeared, we are still like in our high school days.

We both stopped when we heard a familiar voice.

[Who are you talking to?! It's work time, Elthon, I hope you don't forget that!]

I knew it! I almost forget how many times aunt and I were caught talking while Elthon was at work. I'm sure it will be my fault again, I'll be the one to blame. Well, that's what his mom has been doing since the day I got married to him. 

She blames me for everything.

[Mom, you're making me a child. Do you need to be here every day just to watch my every move!]

[Of course! Because I know you can't do your jobs properly here at the company if I just leave you here alone!]

God, I feel like it's my fault why they are fighting now. Oh, yeah! I feel like this every time they fight cause I feel like it's all my fault.

[Mom, I'm not alone. I have employees here, a secretary and many others. Besides, if the company loses money, that's my responsibility. For real though, until now you still don't trust me? I already proved to myself that I can do it on my own, that I don't need you by my side anymore. I'm not a little kid to watch over.]

[Do you want to convey to me that because you are old now you don't need me anymore? That I'm no longer useful to you Elthon? Will you just forget the sacrifice your daddy and I made?!]

His Daddy also didn't like me for Elthon at first, but as time went on, he stopped whining for both of us. Aunt Ella is still very different, even after several years, her anger and annoyance with me are still the same. I think she won't change, she will never change how she treated me.

As far as I remember, I didn't do anything bad to her, the only reason I know that makes her angry and upset with me is that she doesn't want me for her son.

[No, of course! All I want to say is trust me and let me do what I want Mom. Have you forgotten that I am not a teenager anymore, for heaven's sake I'm already 28 years old and turning 29 this year!]

I held my head because it hurt because of the loudness of their voices. I only sometimes hear Elthon raise his voice and more often I only hear him like that when talking to his mommy or maybe other people.

[Hello, wife? Let's talk later when I get home.] He told me softly.

"A-Alright,"
