Chapter 2

"You're taking too much Elthon, go take a bath!" I said seriously.

He stared at me until he broke his gaze, bent down, and scratched his ear until it stopped.

I refrained from laughing at him, he was obviously disgusted with himself. That's how he is when he doesn't get what he wants, scratching his ears until they turn red.

"The heck, he wants to go inside you wife." I closed my mouth and bit my lip to stop myself from laughing.

I took a deep breath to relax myself. "Don't be stubborn, your two heads are getting too stubborn--"

"Shhhh, don't say that wife! He'll get wild even more if you talk!" He said and ran into the bathroom.

"This husband of mine is really cute." I laughed and said to myself.

"I can hear you wife! Yeah, I know I'm cute and also handsome!" I just shook my head at what he said.

I took my cell phone from the pillow and checked what time it was. It's almost 9 am, I'm hungry and I'm sure my husband is hungry too.

I left the room first to heat up our food.

I don't want us to hire a helper here because I can do the housework. Auntie won't allow me to hire a helper because I'm the wife and I have to take care, and do chores here. She says it's my responsibility as a wife.

I know she just wants to torture me and then she also wants me to regret becoming her son's wife. But of course, that won't happen, I'm lucky to have a caring and loving husband like him, so why should I regret it?

I almost jumped in shock because my cell phone suddenly started ringing. I was a little nervous to see that it was Auntie who was calling, she is my mother-in-law.

I calmed myself down and was about to answer your call but suddenly it disappeared. My eyes widened and I got even more nervous. She might think that I didn't answer her call on purpose, it's another thing if she thinks that no matter what reason I say, she won't believe me.

Just a few seconds later she called again, I immediately answered her call.

"Hello, Auntie?"

[Why didn't you answer my first call to you! Are you doing that on purpose to annoy me huh?!]

"No Auntie, I was busy d-doing something because and just notice--"

[I don't care about your meaningless reasons! It's early in the morning and you make my head hot sh*t!]

'I wish you hadn't called me like that.' I said in my mind.

Sometimes I really want to answer her but I just stop myself. even if I turn the world upside down, she is still my husband's mother and I don't want Elthon to think that I don't respect his mother because of course if he doesn't respect my parents I will be mad with him and I don't want him to be mad with me if I do this in my mind now.

I know that Auntie sometimes overdoes it but I just let it go so that there is no more trouble. I don't want to fight, I just want a quiet life.

[Hello? Are you listening?! I've been asking you for a while, Nicole, where is Elthon?] I moved the cell phone a little away from my ear because it was hurting my ear because of the loud voice.

"He's still taking a bath, Auntie--" She's really like that, she always interrupts what I have to say or doesn't let me speak, as if she wants to be the only one to speak, and if I don't talk she gets mad. It's confusing, right? Just by thinking of that makes my head hurt.

[What! Have you been awake for a while huh? What time did you wake up your husband!]

"Auntie, I was g--" I just held my head because it didn't let me finish what I was going to say.

[What will you reason now? It's boring to listen to, you're just saying the same thing over and over again! You are absolutely worthless, why don't you just divorce my son!]

I bit my lower lip to stop myself from speaking. She's kind of similar to a chicken, her mouth never stops moving.

[What?! You can't answer because it's true that you have a useless wife! What is your use in my son's house--]

"It's our house, it's not just your son's house. It's also my house." I calmly told her.

[You're really answering me, you bit*h!]

I clenched my fist and closed my eyes tightly. I was about to speak but someone suddenly grabbed the cell phone I was holding.

"Hello? Mom? I'm on my way there, don't worry. My wife and I are going to eat first... what? Don't be angry with her, it's my fault okay? I'm the one who wakes up late, it's my choice mom. Alright, goodbye." After saying that, he gave me back my cellphone.

He looked at me then smiled, he grabbed my hair and pulled it away. "Don't worry, she's not mad at you anymore. Come, let's eat."

Not mad anymore? Well, there is not a second, minute, hour, or day that she is not angry with me. When it really comes to me, she's like a dragon that always wants to blow me up with fire.

He held both of my shoulders and made me sit down.

We started eating.

"What time will you be home later hubby?" I ask, wondering.

"I'm not sure, I'll just call you, or if I don't call you, just come see me in the office."

"No, it's okay. I'll just wait to see what time you come home." I said and continued eating.

After we ate, I put the food we ate in the sink. I washed my hands before approaching hubby. I adjusted his collar and he hugged my waist and pressed our bodies together.

"Why don't you just accompany me to the office?" Just like before, he frowned.

"Hubby, I told you, I have a lot to do at home, and also I don't want to see Auntie for now. She might embarrass me in front of the employees like she did one day."

She embarrassed me for one day and I know she did it on purpose in front of the employees. She told me that Elthon's wife was worthless and some other hurtful words, saying that I was trash and that I'm not suitable for his son.

Good thing I stopped myself from crying because that's what she wanted, to be embarrassed and made to cry in front of many people. Having fun and laughing at others, that's what she wants to happen to me. good and Elthon came, he told his mom but I know that's still not enough, no matter what hubby talks or says to her, she won't listen.

Auntie is different, when she doesn't like a person she will do something and find a way to remove you from her path.

"Fine, be careful here wife. Call me when you need something, hmm?"

He held both of my cheeks and slowly brought his lips closer to mine.

"Yes, I will call you," I said smiling then kissed him on the lips too.

"I love you too!" I laughed.

"I haven't even said I love you yet, then there's an I love you too right away?" He messed up my hair.

"Just an advance wife, I'm going to leave now."
