CHAPTER – 22

Olivia pov

I ring the doorbell and let out a shaky breath. It’s been ages since I last saw Mom and Dad. I doubt they’ve changed much, but I press the button again, feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety bubbling in my chest.

The sound of the chime echoes through the quiet house, and I can almost hear the memories flooding back—laughter, arguments, and the comforting hum of family life. When Mom opens the door, her eyes widen in shock, and before I can say anything, she pulls me into a warm embrace.

“Olivia, are you okay?” she asks, her voice laced with concern. I can feel the familiar scent of her perfume, a blend of lavender and something sweet, wrapping around me like a soft blanket. I just smile and nod, trying to reassure her. “I’m good! What about you?” I reply, breaking the hug and stepping inside.
