My legs are sore, my body aches, my vagina feels numb, and my jaw is still throbbing. I’ve already woken up, but I can’t muster the energy to open my eyes. The remnants of last night swirl in my mind like a fog, leaving me disoriented. I have no clue where I am or who I’m with; all I know is that I’m lying on a comfy bed, and a familiar scent is wafting through the air—something warm and comforting, like fresh linen mixed with a hint of cologne.

I take a deep breath, trying to shake off the lingering haze, and finally manage to pry my eyes open. The bright light streaming through the window momentarily blinds me, but as my vision adjusts, I realize I’m in my room. The white walls are glowing with sunlight, making everything look so pretty, almost ethereal. I turn my head slowly, and my heart skips a beat when I see David sleeping next to me.
