“He doesn't bite, just go and talk with him man to man. I'm into you already go along. I have to speak to my daughter too” Mom shooed him with a wink. My eyes nearly expunged from my socket when she did that.

While he walked out, I turned my attention to Mom “That was so gross”

“He's my in-law so I don't know what you are talking about”

“ So what do you want to talk about? I hope it's not to give me another lecture on__” I faltered, my mind going to the question she had asked me earlier on in the kitchen. Mom can't be so cruel to want to ask me about a man when the food I just ate hasn't digested.

“So we have to go shopping next week for your wedding gown and other things,” she said with glee and jumped out of her chair to my side to crush me to herself. “I told you, baby, when the time is right you would attract just what you deserve”
