Chapter 4 - First Time In The King Mansion

"How is this dress?" Kate asked Jennifer while showing a blue dress.

"It's beautiful but...." She stopped while looking at her and the dress.

"But?" Kate asked.

"But this dress isn't made for you. First of all, this dress is too long and heavy, you are definitely gonna be uncomfortable in this dress. Secondly, if you wear this dress, you won't be able to dance at the party." Jennifer told her and again started looking for something suitable for her.

"Then, this dress is canceled. I want to dance at my birthday party like there will be no tomorrow." Kate said with excitement, making Jennifer chuckle at her childish side.

Tomorrow is Kate's birthday so they went shopping to choose the best dress for her. In the past few days, Jennifer has gotten to know so much about Kate that she is very sweet and emotional too just like her.

Though Jennifer isn't an emotional girl but if she starts crying once then no one can stop her.

"Here you go. Take this dress and get changed." Jennifer said, giving her a pink dress.

She took it and went to the changing room till then Jennifer started looking for something for herself too. After looking for eternity, she finally got a beautiful pink dress.

It's a simple dress yet elegant, just the way she likes.

"How am I looking?" Jennifer heard Kate's voice and she looked back to see her.

"OMG, you are looking very gorgeous. Tomorrow you are going to look, the most beautiful girl." Jennifer said with happiness.

"Aww, thank you." Kate said and hugged her.

"Did you get any dress for yourself?" Kate asked her and Jennifer showed her the dress.

"You are also going to look very beautiful in this dress. I wonder how many boys will fall in love by looking at you." She said and suddenly Jennifer started blushing like a fool.

"Aww! Jennifer, are you blushing?" She asked, teasing her.

"Stop teasing me." Jennifer said, trying to divert her mind from that topic.

"Okay, let's go. We have more shopping to do." Kate said and started dragging her to another shop.

"Let me drop you at your apartment, then I will go to my home." Kate said after they were done shopping for hours and Jennifer couldn't deny it because she was very tired.

"Jennifer, tomorrow come to my house early. You can get ready in my room because you have to get me ready too. Another thing, I will send a car to pick you up." She said.

"No, it's not needed. I can come by myself." Jennifer said as she doesn't want to give her unnecessary trouble.

"It's needed. In the place where we live, only cars are allowed there. You can't come by cab or any other transport. It's an expensive area, and only rich families live there. So, It's kind of a rule there." She said to her and Jennifer was quite shocked by hearing her and she had no choice but to agree with her.

Jennifer was looking at her phone, waiting for when it was going to be midnight as she wanted to wish Kate first. She was looking at the clock from time to time and after like an eternity, it was finally midnight.

She quickly dialed her number and Kate received it instantly.

"Happy birthday to you... happy birthday to you... happy birthday dear Kate.. happy birthday to you." Jennifer wished her in her sweet voice.

"Thank you so much. You know, you are the first person who wished me." Kate said laughing.

"Lucky me. I hope you have a very graceful life. Jennifer Andrews is blessing you so you will definitely live long." Jennifer said proudly.

"I am blessed to have you as my friend." Kate said genuinely.

Before Jennifer could reply to her, she heard a manly voice in the background.

"Kate, who are you talking to?" Jennifer heard someone talking to Kate.

"Brother... I... I am talking to Mia ." She said and in the next moment she hung up the call and Jennifer shrugged her shoulders getting confused.

The next day, Jennifer woke up very early due to happiness and excitement. She already took a shower and got dressed up in a casual outfit.

Then she took her bag and left her apartment to go to Kate's house. In the parking lot, she saw that a beautiful car had been sent for her by Kate.

She got inside the car and was surprised by the beauty of it and she spent the ride to her house exploring the car. Soon she reached in front of Kate's house, sorry for the wrong word, not a house, it was a freaking mansion and it was her first time watching a live mansion.

She was about to go inside but suddenly Kate came running and jumped into her.

"I was waiting for you eagerly!" Kate said happily.

"Come inside, someone has been waiting for you since yesterday." Kate said and dragged her inside the mansion without letting her speak.

It was decorated so beautifully and Jennifer was sure that she was definitely gonna click a thousand pictures of herself.

"Kate, who is waiting for me?" Jennifer asked in confusion while climbing the stairs.

"Let me show you." Kate said, making Jennifer very eager to know who that person was but she was hell nervous.

The mansion was so big that they were walking for five minutes but she still doesn't know where Kate was taking her. After some time, they came in front of a big door and Kate opened the door by pushing it lightly.

Jennifer's eyes saw the beautiful room but soon her eyes fell on someone who was in a wheelchair.

"Mom, look who is here!" Kate said, chirping happily and after hearing her voice, the person turned the wheelchair towards them.

"I finally found you." She heard the voice of a woman who is Kate's mom and Jennifer had a shocked look on her face.

"Mom, you know Jennifer?" Kate asked.

"She is the girl who took me to the hospital that day." Her mom said.

"Really?" Kate asked and she nodded happily.

Then Kate again jumped on Jennifer, hugging her tightly.

"Kate, can't breathe." Jennifer said because of her tight embrace.

"Mom wanted to meet you so badly. She even told brother to find you, but he wasn't able to because we didn't know anything about you. Mom wanted to thank you for saving her life." Kate said smiling.

"Though I have become old, I don't want to leave my happy family yet. Thank you very much for taking me to the hospital that day." Her mom said to Jennifer.

"Don't make me feel awkward by thanking me, Aunt. I have only fulfilled the responsibility of humanity. I should say sorry that I left without meeting you. I am sorry." Jennifer said, looking down.

"Don't be sorry dear. And please, don't call me aunt, call me Mom." Her mom said and Jennifer was surprised by that.

"I am Kate's friend so how can I call you Mom?" Jennifer asked.

"You are like my daughter. Now, you are one of my favorite people. So, I would very much appreciate it if you call me Mom." She said, giving her a warm smile.

"Now, call me Mom." She said, smiling.

"Mom." Jennifer said, giggling.

"How are you?" Jennifer asked as she was sitting in a wheelchair.

"I am fine. It's so boring sitting all day in this wheelchair. I have to be like this for two months." She said, sighing.

"Mom, I will take Jennifer to my room. You take a rest." Kate said.

Kate took Jennifer to her room which was like a princess's room. Everything was pink and looks like pink is her favorite color.

Jennifer kept her bag in the bed and suddenly her stomach grumbled.

"Looks like your tummy is hungry." Kate said giggling.

"Yeah, I didn't have my breakfast. Kate, can I get a cup of coffee?" Jennifer asked feeling a little embarrassed.

"Why are you asking? Just order and everything will be here." Kate said.

"No, I want to make my coffee myself. I like it the way I make it." Jennifer said.

"Oh, okay. Since you are going to make coffee, make one for me too. Until you come, let me sort out all the makeup essentials." Kate said getting busy.

Jennifer got out of her room and was looking for the stairs but the mansion was so big. But after a few minutes of walking, she saw the stairs and went downstairs then asked a worker to show her the kitchen.

She quickly made two cups of coffee and climbed the stairs carefully but then she realized that she forgot the direction of Kate's room. She was thinking, where to go?

Left or right? Then she shrugged her shoulders and went right and started looking for Kate's room.

Soon, she saw the huge door of her room and she pushed the door with her elbow because she had coffee mugs in both hands. She went inside but what she saw left her awestruck and also made her cheeks red!
