We woke up when it was time to get down from the plane. The light from the open door of the plane shone in my eye making me almost have a migraine. Aminu and I had slept in our respective chairs so as to not be disturbed for landing. I actually really wanted a ton of sleep for no reason.
"Hey, are you gonna freshen up or we'll do that when we get to the hotel." Aminu asked as I stood up groggily.
"Hotel's fine. It's a bit cold anyways" I said making my way to the restroom to relieve myself while went into the room to change his clothes. I decided to keep my clothes on and just change in the hotel.
I got done and came out to the lounge to see Aminu up and ready to go. He held two to-go cups in his hands and was casually sipping from one. I figured it was coffee.
"I'm ready" I said walking up to him. He handed me the other cup in his hand which I appreciated because I needed t
ZaraOur time in Greece was amazing. The culture here was extraordinarily beautiful and I had just realized that I had a knack for learning new cultures and soaking it all in.The day after we arrived was very eventful. We started the day early, having a very nice Greek breakfast to a beautiful view. We immediately went exploring because Greece apparently had a lot of historical places and I wanted to see them. We went to some old ruins on the mountains and it was quite fascinating to think there was once any civilization in those mountains.Apparently the most ideal way for us to move around inside the town with ease was with a four wheeler which Aminu surprisingly knew how to drive. We drove around for well over thirty minutes which allowed me to see the beautiful Santorini village and people. I had bugged Aminu until he stopped in the market area.A
ZaraMy phone rang from its position on the nightstand beside our bed, waking me up from my slumber. It was not morning yet so I wondered who would be calling me at that hour. I obviously knew that the call was from Nigeria because I didn't know anybody in Greece.I stretched my hand in annoyance and grabbed the phone from the stand. It was Lotanna. The fact that it was five am here and Nigeria was two hours behind was making me perplexed at why she was calling me at three am. I answered reluctantly."Tanna, don't you sleep?" I slurred."I saw a blog post about you" she said rapidly. I rolled my eyes and said "yeah, haven't we all?""No no another one. This one actually cleared your name in fact. There was a lot of new information about you and your relationship with Aminu. People were really apologetic. You can check it out" she rapidly said and hung up.
Zara.My heart wanted to explode when I saw all my friends and family in front of me. Louis, Tanna, Tayo, Lanre, Tiara, Anita, even my aunt and surprisingly Nonso. There was also a lady I had never met before, I guessed I would get to know her tonight.I screamed out my lungs, jumping frantically as I started hugging each and every one of them. I was so happy to see them and in that moment, I realized how much I missed them. I also realized why Aminu was being so sketchy the whole day. He was pulling all this together. I had tears in my eyes as I greeted my friends. The strange lady who was really beautiful came up to me and hugged me "Hi, I'm Hadiza. A friend of Aminu's""Hi Hadiza" I said smiling her.Louis came up last and hugged me so tightly "I missed you" he whispered and pulled away."I missed you too" I
Aminu. We both knelt there as I stared at her, nervously waiting for her answer. I was hyperventilating and dreading the fact that she was taking a little bit to long to answer. Did she not want to marry me? Did she not love me enough to want forever with me. I was anxious and my forehead was sweaty. I had never been in this kind of position. I knew it was not going to come easily because Zara wasn't an easy nut to crack and I also never spoke to her about marriage or anything of the sort all in a bid to surprise her, I now realized that I should have spoken to her about it at least to know where she stood. I just hoped she wouldn't turn me down. It would absolutely crush my soul. "Zara" I whispered. She drew in a sharp breath at the mention of her name and I almost panicked until she slowly brought Her finger up to the opening of the ring. "Yes... Yes I'll marry you" she said as more tears d
ZaraNigeria..We were finally back to the country after a really long trip and rounds and rounds of love making. I went to Greece a girlfriend, and now I was engaged. My happiness knew no bounds. I was more than ecstatic about this. I was still on cloud nine and I wasn't going to come down for a very long long time. Maybe even until the wedding. The way I was being treated by Aminu, I only prayed for my friends and every other woman to find love like this because it was beautiful. I really really missed him like no man's business. He was with me earlier but had to go and meet a week's worth of work that he couldn't delegate to his psycho brother claiming it was too confidential for him to do that.I reminisced on the events that happened in Greece when my room door creaked open and brought in Tanna my best friend who I hadn't seen since Aminu had to put them on another of his jets so they could come
ZaraToday was the launch of Amira group. Aminu's chain of companies that included an airline, a shipping arm, a tank farm and oil distribution wing and a security firm. Aminu surprisingly also opened a beach resort last minute. The company was already making waves and getting clients even before it was launched. I knew we hit a jackpot with this one.I was currently doing my hair and makeup in my very big walk in closet. Aminu has a glam team set up for me for some reason. He ordered hair, makeup and the best stylist in Lagos who's name was Jerry, to dress me up. It was all a little overwhelming for me because I never had this kind of treatment before even for our engagement, but this was a big day so I really wanted to soak it all in. This was probably going to be how my life would work from now on.I looked heavenly when they were done with me, like something from a Hollywood movie. Jerry dressed me in a sheer green l
ZaraLouis gave a hearty introduction of Aminu to which Aminu came up on stage and gave him a hand shake per formalities. I knew he wanted to hug Louis for that very mushy introduction.Aminu stood at the podium and I knew he was already searching for me by the way his eyes were moving around. When his eyes finally landed on me, his chest visibly came down and he started."Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for being here today to witness the unveiling of Amira Group of Companies." He said and got an applause in response. I wanted to scream for him but I read my environment quite well and saw that it wasn't necessary. He continued after the applause died down "This is a company that is very dear to my heart, I spent the last few years working on putting it together and I'm just glad that it's finally here." Another applause. The speech went on for another three to four minutes and I couldn't help but no
ZaraI felt horrible as I exited the door to the chalet and almost didn't notice Patrick leaning on the wall with his back like the creepy person that he was. I stopped abruptly because he was partially blocking my way."Wow Zara, you look beautiful." He said when I opened my mouth to tell him to excuse me.I rolled my eyes. I wasn't in the mood for his mind games. "Would you just let me pass?" I said."Oh I will dear I will. How are you enjoying your evening though?" He said smirking devilishly."Don't fucking patronize me Patrick. I know what you did and soon, everyone will know it too" I said. This was the first time I was threatening someone, but if I was right about Patrick then he deserved it because he was a horrible person."Wow, she swears" he said feigning surprise. I glared so hard a him and I was doing everything in my power not to swipe my hand a
Aminu. Previously... "Ma'am this is from Mr Garba" he said and gave me a card. "What's that?" Tanna asked. I opened it and smiled "aww it's a note" "Aww. Read it out" she said. So curious for gossip. I giggled. "To my Angel Wife, I remember the day we met. It was then that I knew that I wouldn't let you slip through my fingers. At first sight I knew that you were the one for me. I didn't care about anything else other than being with you from that moment. I just knew I wanted to see you happy. The love I feel for you is strong and eternal. My Queen, you are the light in my life, the air in my lungs. You give me purpose in every way and I am so happy you agreed to be with me forever. Your aura has consumed me and I want to bask in the light that you give for the rest of eternity. Today, we seal the deal and I just wanted to s
Zara Previously... "Sorry ma'am I didn't wasn't to keep you waiting so I had to let you in before they were done." Atafo apologised. "There's no need to apologise. I don't mind" I shrugged. Tanna who had been silent all along tapped me pointing at an armless gown she seemed to like. "That's a really cool design." Tanna said. "Feel free to move around and choose. I'll be waiting for what you decide. You can also have this notepad to write down your thoughts." He said and gave us a notepad. We began our search. The gowns on display were all breathtakingly gorgeous. I was so shook at what Atafo could actually do with those hands of his. I Was already imagining what my wedding dress would look like. "So do you have anything in mind?" Tanna asked me. "Yeah I have an idea of what I want. I want an armless dr
Zara Previously... "Do you miss Greece? We could go back soon if you want." He said taking my hand across the table. "Yeah but we will plan it this time Mimi. No surprises." I warned and he sat up, putting his hand on his chest. "Promise ma'am" he said. "Good. So what are we eating, I'm hungry." I said and took the menu. The dinner date was really fun. We had laughs and talked about everything. Also gossiped about a few of our friends. We basically dissected everything while violating table manners. But we didn't care. Once we were done with our three course meal of exquisite delicacies, as of on cue, music started to play. One of my favorite songs at the moment. Odo by Johnny Drille. "Can I have this dance ma cherie" Aminu held his hand out smiling while I laughed at something he had said earlier.
Zara. Previously... When the police man had chained him to the table and left, Patrick started laughing. "What's funny" I said frowning. "You know, I never ever thought that I would ever see you again in my life" Patrick said, still chuckling. "Well, one last time wouldn't hurt. I used to consider you my friend." I said and folded my arms. "I used to be in love with you you know. Or should I say, infatuated." Patrick said and chuckled. It seemed as though he was finding himself amusing. "I know that" I said. I surprising was not feeling any emotions right now towards him. Everything was well and okay. He didn't disgust me the way Jasmine seemed to. "Yeah and you know I didn't intend to shoot you. I'm really sorry." He said. "I just hope you don't hate me" "I don't Patrick. Have y
Zara Previously... The judge was rested back in his chair, but his face held shock and fear. Probably fear for knowing someone like Jasmine. Aminu who was sat beside me had become furious again and I stroked his arm to calm him which he was responding to well. The silence in the room was deafening for a few seconds before the judge finally spoke again. "Wow, officers, I don't know what you people are waiting for. Cuff her immediately." He said with venom in his voice. The policemen who were stationed in the courtroom went forward and cuf
Zara Previously... Your honor, my client is not guilty of the allegations on him. First of all, this child is legally his son which means he had all the right to have the boy in his custody however, the way it is being narrated is not how it happened. My client went to the Plaintiff's apartment which in his magnanimity he had given her, only to realize that she had run away from the house along with all her belongings leaving just the boy, the nanny and a letter confessing all her crimes against Mr Garba here. My client having a good heart, took the boy into his home even after finding out that the boy is not his. So your honor, this whole case is a lie and shouldn't even have been a case in the first place." My lawyer said and sat down. "Objection my Lord! There is no evidence to back his claim" Jasmine's attorney said.
Aminu. Previously... Almost a week had passed and it was finally the day that we would stand trial with the arbitrator. Aminu had pushed for it because he didn't want the stupid case to taint his brand which was the wise thing to do. The arbitrator would essentially keep everything on a low and not attract press to it. Or so I thought. I hadn't spoken to Aminu even after Tanna's intervention. Now I was ready and I was going to surprise him at the arbitrator's office. There was no way I would leave him to do this alone. I didn't tell Louis because his big mouth would tell Aminu in a heart beat. On getting to the venue for the trial, contrary to my belief, there was a swarm of press people with microphones and cameras at the doors to the building. What the hell? Who told them where it would be. I decided to hide and slip in undetected. I met a secur
Zara. Previously... "Yeah I get it. It's very nice of her though" I said and sighed, rubbing my eyes. "I really miss Zara. And Nas has been crying, he wants to see her. I'm always scared of going home to him because he'll start hounding me with questions and crying again." I said rubbing my face in frustration thinking about how sad Nasir was that Zara wasn't there. "Did he do that when he was brought to your house in the first place. Like did he cry about Jasmine?" Louis with his nosiness asked. "Not at all. It was like he didn't know the difference. Nasir for her was always a tool to use to get what she wanted so I believe they didn't have much of a relationship with each other." I said and sipped my usual glass of whiskey. "Don't worry, she'll come around" he said and his eye twitched. That was something I learnt over the years to look out for if Louis
Aminu. Previously... "Both you and Jasmine will rot in prison, I will make sure of that" I said, gritting my teeth. Anger rose in me and I had to fight of the urge to get my hands around his throat and kill him there and then. But then I had to allow the law take its course and Zara.. she wouldn't be happy with my line of action. "I've accepted my fate brother. I wish I did things better. I probably would get a life sentence or worse, be executed which I'll prefer because a life sentence is a fate worse than death. I have never asked you for anything before but I will do it now because this is a mutual need. Make sure Jasmine goes to jail or dies. That is my only wish." He said this time looking me in the eye. "That's easy. And for what it's worse. If you hadn't betrayed me and had told me about the fact that we were brothers from the onset, I would have accepted you with all the joy in the w
