From the corner of my eye, I see a young witch sending a wave of black spells in my direction. Digging my claws deep into the shoulders of the feral rogue I am fighting with, I spin him around, using him as a shield. One of the spells hits me in my right leg, which was exposed, and it feels like all my bones shatter at the same time. It is all in my head, but my brain still registers pain like I never felt before.

I grit my teeth, holding back the scream of pain I so desperately want to release. Not only because of the pain that spread all over my body but because we are losing the fight with the enemy.

No matter how hard we fight, we are not strong enough to defeat the black witches and the feral rogues. And with Conrad out, I don’t think we will last much longer.
