Chapter Twenty-Five – First Date

Lyra’s POV

I woke up the next morning to a pale light filtering through the window! Was the sun up already? Had the blizzard stopped? I sat up and looked around the vehicle. There was no sign of Leandros anywhere. After promising me a dreamy future, did he leave me alone here? Panic settled in my heart and I got up. Quickly freshening up in the tiny washroom, I opened the door to look around.

To my immense relief, I saw Leandros chatting with our neighbors outside their trailer. He smiled when he saw me, leaving them and walking up to me.

“Good morning, sleepyhead!” I rolled my eyes and got down to soak in some sunshine.

“Good morning!” I gazed around the snowy terrain, sparkling under the morning sun. I wondered if he remembered his promise of a date. “Just the weather to go out. Don’t you think so?” I had to remind him in case he forgot about it.

“All roads are blocked, little mate. I’m yet to buy a chopper.” He winked and walked away towards the little cabin where the manager
