Lyra’s POV

“Hospital? What happened to Uncle Felixe?” My heart sank as I dreaded his reply.

“When he returned from work to see you gone, he wanted to fetch you from Lucania. We stopped him, but he paid no heed to us. At midnight he went to the airport informing no one. Only when we received a phone call from the traffic police, we knew he had met with an accident on the way.”

I gasped in horror, clutching Leandros’s hand. “Accident? Why didn’t you inform me? Was he critical? How is he, Uncle Derrick?” Tears streamed down my cheeks as I stuttered with guilt. No wonder he didn’t call me. How could I be so selfish? How did I not understand the consequences of my actions?

“He was critical, but miraculously, it was just some broken bones and whiplash. He’s undergoing rigorous therapy every day. Today Hera has taken him to the hospital for a checkup. Please come inside.
