Chapter Thirty – Captured

Lyra’s POV

I watched Leandros disappear behind a trailer. With so much to pack up, there wasn’t a minute to spare. I walked away from the window and concentrated on the task at hand. How would we take back so many food supplies with us? I was at my wit’s end now. With only a rucksack and a few carry bags, I had nothing with me.

I was so engrossed in packing that I completely forgot to lock the door after Leandros left.

The door opened, and I smiled, knowing he was back to help me. It was now a matter of a few minutes before we left this place and started afresh in his village, Lucania. I felt excited at the prospect of going home.

“You’re back already? Now help me pack, Leandros,” I ordered him without turning to check.
