Cali
For the first time in as long as I could remember it was just Roman, Amber, Tristan and I at the dinner table and every face was smiling.
The conversation was light-hearted as we all took turns heaping food onto our plates, there wasn't a single mention of the war, something I was eternally grateful for.
A part of me had known since day one what I was getting into, being the mate of an Alpha. It was never going to be an easy simple life, but I've never expected that within my first 6-months of being Luna we would have faced war and kidnapping, death and destruction.
The war had sunk into every crevice of this pack, no matter how hard we tried to shelter the innocent and protect the pack members there was no saving them from their own fears. Those fears translated to gossip around the town which in turn made everyone worry more.
Even here in the packhouse where we were constantly surrounded by security and t
I want to take a moment to say thank you to all my readers that have stuck with this story so far. There has been a serious delay with the updates of this story and I can not apologize enough. I have recently been dealing with some health concerns, although I am hoping that I am now over the worst and seem to be back on the mend, allowing me the freedom to write and post chapters as often as possible. I aim to complete this book as soon as possible and promise to work tirelessly over the coming weeks to update multiple chapters as often as possible. Thank you all for your kind words and understanding and I hope that you enjoy the rest of the story.
CaliWithout another word spoken he tilted my head up until his eyes met mine and watched me with such intensity that I couldn't help but squirm in my seat before his lips crashed against mine in a kiss that was demanding in way our kisses never had been before, like he physically couldn't get enough.Hours could have passed, and I wouldn't have known I was so lost in the feeling of his lips against mine, his hands that gripped my hips in a firm hold while his thumbs traced tantalising lines against the skin above my waist band. Eventually he pulled back, his gaze searching as we both gasped to catch our breaths. I had never been so turned on in my life, I couldn't sit still and wriggled against his lap trying vain to get closer to pulsing erection that I needed to feel press inside me."You sure?" He asked, his voice gruff with his own desire and the sound alone made me shiver. Another nod of my head and I watched as he swallowed.
CaliThe doctor’s appointment had done little to alleviate my fears, instead only leaving me with more worry and doubt.Despite his years of medical training the doc had no idea what kind of affect our abilities would have on the baby.He doubted it would be hereditary since neither of our parents had any additional abilities or skills beyond those that were usual to our race, but he couldn't say for certain. Nor could he determine if there would be any other lasting side effects. He did a quick scan of my abdomen and declared that everything was as he would expect considering my gestation.Unfortunately he couldn't give me any kind of due date, elaborating to say that each shifter pregnancy was different and some Cubs would develop to term in four months while others took eight and that he would be able to give me any idea until he had measurements taken over several months. We then discussed my own abilities,
TristanIt was a little after 2 a.m by the time we got finished with the last of the interviews. Leaving the captives in the capable hands of the Warrior guards Roman and I trudged up the stairs to the main floor of the packhouse, both of us bone weary and exhausted.Without much conscious thought I followed my beta into the first floor sitting room and slumped back on the sofa as Roman poured out two generous glasses of Scotch.Neither one of us said a word until the glasses were half empty. Sure, we had been hoping to uncover some information in relation to the traffickers, how they connected to Liberty pack, why they were interested in Freya, where they were based, anything that would help Damien and Freya, but neither one of us had expected to get the answers we had."Well shit." Roman grumbled before draining the remaining liquid from his glass and I couldn't help but agree. "Surely this can't be right." He continued an
CaliI woke slowly in the huge bed I had become accustomed to over the weeks I had been living at BlackRock and reached out for Tristan, not surprised to find his side of the bed empty, although it was surprising that the sheets were still warm. He hadn't been up for long.A glance at the clock showed it was still early and part of me wanted to curl up and fall back asleep for a few hours but today was going to be a day unlike any other since I arrived here. With visiting Alphas from each of the three alliance packs, the pack house would be busy. I could already hear the bustle from around the house as rooms were prepared and security was arranged. With a resigned sigh I climbed from the bed and made my way into the ensuite bathroom. If nothing else, I should probably put in a little extra effort in this morning. This would be the first day when I would truly be representing BlackRock as Luna to outside packs.I took
CaliOver the next few days, I seemed to operate more on autopilot than anything else. Alpha De'Maine did indeed arrive with 8 cars although thankfully only one of them was full. With 19 shifters from Oak Creek, 24 from Dark Forest and 12 from Lotus pack, plus the almost constant circulation of BlackRock pack members and the main house was filled to capacity. The staff were all working on overdrive to keep up with the demand in the house, something I would be eternally grateful for, as without their help there was no way we could have pulled this off.All in all, my first event hosting was a success. Only Catoil found anything to moan about, but I was reliably informed that it wasn't unusual for him to do so, followed by a comment about how the man was an ass and to feel free to throw him out. The surprising part was that the statement came from Tristan, not Damian.Tristan was less stressed than I would have expected
CaliChristmas morning dawned bright and early and I swear even from the comfort of our bed on the third floor I could smell the scent of mulled wine and spiced apple tarts.A smile tugged at my lips. As I relaxed back into Tristan's arms. It smelt like Christmas. This was the one time of the year I had always felt like a kid, no matter what else had been going on in my life at the time, everything seemed to matter less on Christmas day."Morning baby." Tristan greeted, his voice husky with sleep sending a jolt of desire straight through me.Irrespective of what the doc had told me, my desire for Tristan hadn't decreased, if anything I wanted him now more than I had weeks ago."I have a present for you." He stated before sliding from the bed and grabbing an envelope. He handed the me the sealed paper with a smile, sitting on the bed beside me rather than climbing back under the covers.Curiosity took ove
A.N. – Thank you all for your dedication to Fire and Ice, the story from here on out will include chapters from the POV of both Roman and Amber, the next few chapters will be Ambers entirely as we get to know her better and finally learn all about what has been going on between her and the Beta, but don’t worry, we haven’t heard the last of Tristan and Cali just yet. I hope you enjoy, L.M.Nokes xxAmberOkay so maybe blurting out that I’m pregnant on Christmas day while surrounded by my Alpha and Luna and our friends and family wasn’t the smartest of ideas, especially considering I’m unmated. I mean BlackRock is a progressive pack and all but even this is a little outside of the accepted norm. I just got so damn frustrated. The man can’t seem to help himself. He has to push.It probably doesn’t help matters that carrying a shifter cub generates three
Amber (Christmas day)I could hear a commotion downstairs and strained my hearing to find out what was going on. It was yet another thing I regretted as I heard my father shouting, it didn’t take a genius to work out who was the recipient of that tirade and as frustrated as I felt he didn’t deserve to be on the receiving end of my Fathers anger.I stood and paced my room, felling all kinds of anxious. Somehow, I had managed to make everything ten times worse with my outburst, but I just couldn’t help it. Somewhere over the last few months my infatuation with Roman had turned into full blown love and it was killing me. Seeing him every day, working with him, sleeping in the room next to him, when he clearly didn’t feel the same way.God I really screwed everything up. I sat back on the bed, my hand on my stomach as the tears started to fall once again.
