Jessi was still asleep when I walked into my office.

Kane stood by the door with his eyes focused on it and sniffed the air after we walked out. “Who’s here” he ask wrinkling his nose. “Where mom” I tell him she’s in the kitchen but before I can tell him its time for bed he runs off leaving me standing in the hall.

‘Kanes on his way to you’ I tell her as I climb the stairs with Jessi.

‘Yeah he’s helping me make sandwiches’ she tells me a few seconds later.

Ticking Jessi in I make sure the balcony door is closed and head downstairs, the sound of laughter echoing around the house filling it with life in the silent night,

Silently I stand in the kitchen doorway and watch as my mate and son laugh with the young wolves that Hannah seemed to care for.

Hannah came to me a few days ago and said she needed to do something and would be back the next day. I hadn’t thought anything about it until now.
