The unforgettable stench of rotting flesh hit me like a memory as I stand in the living room, straining my senses I hear Carter talking to Kane, tuning them out I tune into other sounds and smells.

Hushed voices and the shuffling of feet alert me to the front door.

‘What do hear’ Cole asks me as he steps half shifted next to me.
