CHAPTER TWELVE
MIRA
"Rena dera prexanta, shallle.... jexi."
I read out the incarnations with my eyes tightly shut, and my hands spread out. I was trying to concentrate on the incarnation I was saying.
I already wasted too much time to begin. I had been distracted ever since I came into the Palace, and I had not really paid enough attention to my witch practice.
My lips moved rapidly nonstop, and I didn't pause forba second to catch my breath.
"Mom!" My daughter screamed as she rushed into the inner chamber of the room we shared.
There was one thing with sharing a room with kids. Even when you tried to pay attention or focus on something, they would never understand. I thought I would be able to focus while she played in the main room with her toys.
I turned around sharply and saw her standing there and staring up at me. There was excitement in her innocent eyes as she looked up at me. I was not curious to know why she interrupted my incarnation when I was not even done yet.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" I fired at her.
She blinked and took some steps backwards. She must wonder why I acted like a monster most of the time.
"How many times have I warned you about privacy?" I continued to scold her. "Whenever I am not in the room, it is obvious that I do not want any form of communication with you until I'm done here."
She looked like she was going to cry. Or better still, apologise for interrupting, but she had learnt very early that she was not supposed to talk whenever I was angry.
"Now get lost!" I ordered her.
She turned around and rushed out of the room in panic. I could hear her sobbing as she was running towards the room. I inhaled deeply as a pang of guilt washed over me. I could not understand why I always felt this way after treating my daughter so harshly.
I walked towards the only chair in the room and sat there. I no longer felt the urge to continue my prayers. I already disconnected, and I was also feeling bad.
I buried my head in my palm.
For a second, I thought I heard someone gasping for breath. I quickly lifted my head and tried to listen carefully. I no longer had the ability to hear things from afar, so I needed to pay more attention to be able to figure out what was going on.
My heart sank deep in my stomach when I realised that my daughter was the one who was gasping for breath. I rushed out of the inner room to the main room and met my daughter lying still on the floor and gasping for breath.
I rushed to her and knelt on the floor beside her as I began to call out for help. I screamed out loud in fear that something may happen to my daughter.
I was a witch and not a healer. I didn't have the cure to everything. This was one of the things my powers were limited to. It hurt me so much that I could offer solutions to others who needed it, but I was not able to find a solution to my daughter's asthma yet.
I carried her in my hands and continued screaming and crying for help.
"Mira, are you okay?" I heard someone's voice finally.
I looked up and saw Jeremy standing in front of the door. His eyes widened when he saw my daughter lying on the floor and struggling for her life.
"Oh my!" He exclaimed. "What happened to her."
"Help me find her inhaler!"
Jeremy began to search the room for her inhaler while I pleaded with her to stay with me. She was struggling so hard, and even my tears could not help her. Seeing my daughter in so much pain was something that hurt me more than anything else on earth.
Soon, Lesley also rushed into the room. He asked Jeremy what was going home, and Jeremy told him they needed to find my daughter's inhaler since she was under an asthma attack.
They both began to search the room for my daughter's inhaler. They were both sweating profusely. I could no longer help it. The drop of tears would not help either. I burst out in tears.
I was scared.
"Here it is," Jeremy said as he rushed towards me with the inhaler.
"Oh, I was about to check there," Lesley said as he walked towards us.
Jeremy bent down in front of me and carried my daughter. He helped her with her inhaler, and soon, her breathing became calm.
Her breathing kept decreasing until it became abnormally low.
I looked up at Jeremy.
"She doesn't look okay at all," I told him.
He nodded. He offered to lift her to the bed, and I agreed.
"I think I should take her to the healer," Lesley offered.
I turned to him. He had the best suggestion, but I was mad at him. I hated him.
"It would be better if we call the healer here to take care of her."
Jeremy sat beside my daughter and began to coil her hair.
"Are you okay?" Lesley asked as he came to hold me.
I nodded my head. I went to my daughter and knelt beside her. I was not sure if she would be fine. Her breathing was not steady. I was scared that something bad may happen to her.
"She will be fine, okay?" Lesley assured me as he touched my hair.
I noticed that the two were competing. They were both trying to sound more caring, and it was annoying. I didn't think much about it when the two were pushing each other when searching for her inhaler.
I sighed deeply.
Right before my eyes, my daughter's condition kept getting worse. I watched as her breath continued to reduce until she finally passed out, causing my heart to sink into my stomach.
CHAPTER THIRTEEN MIRA"She's unconscious!" I screamed. Lesley carried her before Jeremy could, and we all rushed out of the house together. We went to see the healer so she would take care of my daughter. When we got to the healers, Chambers, she was not in. My heart was already beating very fast. Jeremy checked her pulse and confirmed that she was only unconscious, but she was still breathing. He ordered some guards to find the healer and bring her back to her Chambers right away. Immediately after the guards walked away from the room, the healer walked into the room. She probably bumped into them on her way back to her Chambers. "She was under an asthma attack, and she just passed out," I cried to the healer immediately as she walked into the house. Lesley lay her on the bed while the healer began to check on her. She used some herbs on Mia. I sat beside her, watching her with my heart racing in my chest. I told myself that it was my fault that my daughter had fallen under
CHAPTER FOURTEENMIRAThe sun was already rising so early that morning. I wanted to talk to Lesley, but I didn't know where and how to meet him. I wanted to have a private conversation with him, so I would not just run up to him and ask for his attention. Being alone with him would bring back memories that I was trying to forget. Even though I would not lie to myself that it was difficult to take those thoughts out of my head. I had sex with Lesley several times, and each of them was worth it. It was hard to forget someone who fucks so hard. A knock on my door snapped me out of my thoughts. I inhaled and shook my head quickly as I walked towards the door in a hurry. I opened the door and met one of the kitchen staff standing out there. She bowed in front of me. "I wanted to let you know that breakfast would be ready soon." I nodded. "Will you like to be served in your room, or you will eat in the dining room." I cleared my throat. "I will just eat along with everyone else." T
CHAPTER FIFTEENMIRA"You changed a little too much," Jeremy teased me. "I wonder how you recognised me the moment you set eyes on me." I was happy to finally be able to ask him that. It had always been something that got me wondering. How he recognised me was a mystery. Meanwhile, the main person who was supposed to recognise me and have my name ring a bell in his head didn't. "How would I not? I had a long crush on you for years, but you would not get it." I chuckled. I was not sure if he was playing with me right now or if he was serious. I decided not to pay attention to Jeremy. He was probably trying to be naughty. "Well," I said as I leaned towards Jeremy. "Are you going to tell Lesley about me now?" Jeremy scoffed. "Why would I do that?" We had been seated in Jeremy's room since after breakfast. Although, I didn't eat breakfast with them because I was too angry with Lesley. I had asked the maids to serve my breakfast in my room, but Mia ended up eating the dish alone.
CHAPTER SIXTEEN MIRAJeremy's hands slowly moved down my thigh. He grabbed my thigh and pulled me closer. Our lips were still locked together as we continued to kiss each other passionately. My hands were securely wrapped around his neck, while his, digged into my body. He grabbed my boobs and squeezed them gently. I moaned into his mouth, and wet liquid poured out from me. I grabbed him more tightly as I felt his hands moving up my thighs. I was already breathing heavily. I feared that my moans would be heard from other rooms, so I shut my mouth tightly and tried to swallow every sound in. He gently pushed me back against the bed and ran his hands around my hair. Jeremy buried his lips on my boobs and began to suck on them. I grabbed his head tightly and pressed my lips together. I moaned out softly, restricting the air and sounds that came out of my lips. I wanted to push Jeremy away. I wanted him to stop what he was doing right away, but I could not bring myself to tell him th
CHAPTER SEVENTEEN JEREMYThe entirety of the next day uneventful as I stayed back in my room all day.Although I didn’t have engage in much physical activities, I still could not stop the wandering that went on in my mind. If was difficult for me to get my mind off the event that conspired between Mira and I last night. I didn’t know if I had planned or wanted it, but at this point, I knew that I wanted to do it over and over again with her, I wanted her over and over again.I equally didn’t know if this feeling was right or wrong, considering the past we shared, especially the past she shared with Lesley. But that did not stop me from desiring her.I stood up from the bed I was lying on and went over to stand by the window. The sun was already starting to rise, giving a hint at dawn. I had no idea why, but the beautiful burst of orange colour that filled the sky that morning somehow did much to remind me of Mira.Beautiful, soft, delicate, sweet and mesmerising, but yet, resilient.
CHAPTER NINETEEN APLHA LESLEY I was finally in the meeting room with Jeremy and the rest of the pack elders. We were deliberating on Mira's issue. I didn't know why I was suddenly tense and restless. "I do not know why you have so much faith in that woman. Would she be able to save our pack? Come on?" "I thought we talked about this before?" Jeremy interrupted. His eyes were glued on me as he asked the question. I had made a mistake. I lied to Jeremy that I had already talked to the elders about it, and they agreed that Mira should come into the pack and save everyone. I only talked to a few elders. They had doubts, but they agreed to give her a trial. "What makes you think that an ordinary woman like her would be able to save this pack?" An elder argued. "We have tried different mediums. We have consulted different healers, and they were only able to tell us fortune without giving solutions." "Some even gave us fake portions to take. Instead of making our warriors stronger during th

CHAPTER TWENTYJEREMY "Take her bags inside," I ordered the guards. They packed up Celia's bags and began walking inside with them. Celia turned to me and hugged me tightly. I spoke to her dad the previous night before they arrived in the morning. They were going on a trip and wanted me to take care of their daughter until their return. The alpha and his wife left their pack under the care of their beta, and now they were keeping their daughter under my care. "You have to watch over her until I am back. Do not let her out of your sight." "Mom?" Celia stressed. "I am no longer a child." I smiled. If only she had heard everything her dad had said to me the previous night about keeping her safe and all. She would not complain about this tiny statement her mom had just made. After her parents left, I led her into the house. Celia and I had a lot of catching up to do. I organised the maids to prepare a room for her. I picked the closest room to my room so that I would be able to watch afte
CHAPTER TWENTY ONEMIRA "I love you Mira, with every part of me. " Jeremy's words replayed in my head as his image enveloped my thoughts. I could feel the race of my heart beeping faster than I could imagine. The sun ray shined upon my face as I realized I was dreaming all along, yet the thoughts of Jeremy was as real as though he was with me, I couldn't get over the thoughts of how he thrusted in and out of me the day we had sex. I knew I would fall more for Jeremy if I continued to see him. I was avnel to convince myself that avoiding Jeremy was the best option. Whenever I saw Jeremy walking towards me, I quickly did a turn. I avoided the kitchen and dinning because of him. I didn't want to fall deeper in love with Jeremy because it would only make things worse. I wouldn't be able to concentrate on any other thing aside from Jeremy. I inhaled deeply as I shut my eyes letting the thoughts continue to drown me. He made me feel the real woman I am, how more could I get over the feeling
