Chapter 22: It did

I moved away from him with heavy feet, afraid he was going to pounce on me and rip me apart because his blazing glare was setting my skin on fire. His breath was like a fire on my skin. I lost my voice, the confidence I'd built, and the anger that was in me. Not knowing how to respond to his question.
