Every member of the Pack gathered to witness the famine that invaded their land and existed around them. They glared at how Dawn was dragged to the podium and thrown to the ground like a rag doll, her hands tied to her back and a cloth bag to her face.
Alpha Dillon couldn't move his feet even though his toes were aching, drops of sweat eluded from his sharp jawline. The crowd kept prattling, babbling inaudible words to no end, throwing everything they saw on the ground or in their hands at her. She flinched and sniffled bitterly, she tossed around blindly to avoid her attackers. Dawn could die from the pain that came with an end to her life. A peaceful one to disappear overnight. She refused to think that Ruby would tell anyone about her secret and shook the thoughts off. Immediately the Oracle walked in and greeted the Alphas and the Elders that were present on the Podium. Alpha Apollo grinned confidently and signalled the Oracle to begin and borrowed a glance at his son who was about to bust out, swelling up from holding his breath. Dillon brought his gaze to meet his father pleadingly before looking in his mate's direction. His fingernails began scraping the arm of the wooden executive chair he was seated glaring at her not holding back tears that bogged out of his eyelids. The Oracle stood a step away from Dawn as an invisible wave almost swept her off her feet, her eyes squinted repeatedly as she turned her gaze to meet with her future Alpha, she glared at Alpha Dillon almost chuckling at his fate. She knew the girl lying in front of her was his fated one without even seeing her face, she turned around dramatically and went in Alpha Apollo's direction holding up the piece of her gown leaving the crowd in awe and murmurs. "Are you aware of her?" The Oracle whispered calmly, her face oozing her usual blank expression. "You know better Oracle, I can't allow such dirt to mate with my son. That can only be over my dead body." "Are you in support of this, Alpha Dillon?" The Oracle asked, waiting for answers that never came. A waiting answer also made Dawn raise her body from the ground to listen to what her mate had to say about this. Tears fumed warmly in her eyes, blurring her dark vision and biting her lips to hold them in. She could feel total sadness seeping from Dillon straight into her heart. Helplessness, Turmoil. But he won't let her die right? She thought hopefully as the Oracle's voice filled the atmosphere at once. "Are you in support of this, Alpha Dillon?" The Oracle demanded strictly. No words came from Dillon, only sobs and eyes almost bursting out of his socket. "My son is going to be Head Alpha of this Region and he can't mate with that breed and he knows it better than anyone else so move along Oracle." Alpha Apollo eased the air which had Dawn gasping for breath, her eyes dwindling in different layouts behind her veneer. "As you wish, Alpha," The Oracle nodded agreeably. "A favour l ask, Alpha, " The Oracle added, waiting for no response from the Alpha, and looked around at every Elder's face. "How does she die? By hanging? By Knife Impaling? Persecution by guillotine? Burning alive or burying her alive? One must choose." She declared undoubtedly waiting for a response as she signals the warriors behind Dawn to take the cloth bag off her face. Dawn wheezed hysterically looking around to see who her eyes longed to see the most as they were covered since she arrived. "Alpha?" She murmured to Dillon, tears soaking up her brown eyes. Wondering why he wasn't saying anything. Four days ago he was so bold to announce to everybody about their fated bond. What changed? Does he despise me now knowing I'm an Omega? Does he…? Dawn's heart shattered into a million pieces as Alpha Dillon couldn't hold his gaze anymore, he looked away from her. "Alpha?" Dawn howled out bitterly even though that is not what she wanted to say, she is stronger than this. Her heart is stronger than a mere cry for help from her mate who is in a position to help her. Help from one who hates her the most. Alpha Dillon looked away to hide his tears, to hide his vulnerability. His people can't see him as weak, he can't act like a whimper or he will be stepped on. He flinched traumatically, balling his fist into a tight grip as his father tapped on his shoulder continually. He is holding back from punching his father in the face. Clearly, he realised how much of a coward he was and he loosened his fistball with his shoulder melting at zero. He can't do anything! He… ! "Go ahead and hang her!" Alpha Apollo gave orders. Dillon's eyes enlarged, enveloping his father unexplainably. He fidgeted in his seat, losing his breath and senses by the second. He thought deeply, all punishments are… Too much. "Since she is the Alpha's fated one, impale the holy knife through her heart and use her blood for a good purpose." The Head Elder mentioned. "So you're saying l should use the blood of the dead Luna for a good purpose?" The Oracle said sarcastically which had everyone glimmer at one another for the reason for her tone. "Do you have a better idea, Oracle," The Elder retorted unbelievably. Dawn was in no way buying in her heart that she was going to just die like that. Something has to happen! Someone has to save her! She doesn't mind being enslaved rather than lose her life, so she looked around to find her best friend. Obviously, she wasn't around. Neither her father nor mother sat at the podium, she wondered why the Royal family that treated her like their own daughter neglected her on a day like this. Her grandmother… She burst into tears as her heart tightened within her rib cage realising that indeed she had no one, she had no idea if the Grandmother was still alive or not. She shut her eyes as the Oracle walked closer to her and she felt the warriors untie the ropes, laid her back against the ground, and held her still. Alpha Dillon raised to his feet outrageously, sobbing like a child, holding on to his sanity as the veins in his neck are almost popping out itself. His legs gave out cowardly as his father held his knees gripping him with widened and daring eyes. He sat back on his seat, his claws drawing on the table painfully. Dawn struggled impatiently, floundered with no ease to give in to the death wish that was in front of her. She cried even more bitterly as she felt the overwhelming breeze of the Oracle come close to her with the sound of the knife leaving its sheath. The thought of having that pierce in her beating heart had her breathless, her breath locked until a second later when she felt an excruciating pain that has never occurred in her life. A pain to make her even more breathless with blood churning out of her mouth. The Oracle pulled the knife out of her heart forcefully as Dawn's body glided up spitting blood excessively, her eyes going wearily and losing their strength to stay open. The Oracle yet again impaled the knife on her neck and pulled it out with blood. Dawn's blood rained laboriously. One of her subordinates positioned a white holy inlet to collect the lashing blood. Dillon's heart stopped beating for a moment with his mouth hanging open in disbelief and incredulity as he stood on his feet watching his fated mate bath in her own blood, a part of him snapped dead and his once deep sky-blue eyes housed blood fuming blurry. He hiccupped gripping his heart tightly like he was going to rip it out and look at it in hand. It wasn't enough! The pain was making him insane that he began slapping him repeatedly, not tearing his eyes off Dawn's body. "I'm a coward!" He murmured continuously, finally moving on his feet slowly to meet his mate's dead body but Alpha Apollo signalled the Warrior guards to halt his son from approaching that unclean thing. Dillon tore out the neck of the first guard to approach him in wrath, the crowd held their breath at the behaviour of their next leader. Alpha Apollo couldn't stand it and sent more guards to tangle the son down while Dawn's dead body was moved away to be dumped in the river. Dillon couldn't hold back the piercing pain in his heart anymore and cried out loudly. He gleaned vociferously weeping his heart content, hoping the Moon Goddess could feel his heavy heart. Hoping the Moon Goddess could give him another chance to save his other half, his fated one. The one he couldn't stop thinking about for days. The smile he had on his face when Ruby told him she was an Omega, he thought he would be able to protect her but… He would rather vanish into thin air than live a life without his mate, a love at first sight, an unbreakable bond that snapped immediately after he set his eyes on her that day. He would rather die with her! He wept kneeling to the ground as the warriors held their Next leader down with every strength they had in them. Alpha Dillon prayed to the Moon Goddess with every tear that dropped down his cheeks. He cried out wishing for a change to protect his mate, rewrite his life, stand up for himself and lead his people the way he wants. He cried out for a chance to rewrite the laws of their land and appeased all the lost Omega souls. An eternal bitterness soaked his flesh and bones. The Warrior finally dragged the young Alpha away upon the father's signal and locked him up in his room. The Oracle watched the Ordeal with a grin as she felt the Alpha's sincere prayers. "There is no such thing as eternal death," She sighed.Dawn POV. Seven Years Later. Um…Natural life is Cyclical. Day fades into night and turns back into the day as the sun rises.
