“Now tell me, little mate,” he murmured, his golden eyes glinting with a dangerous light, “do you want revenge on all those who did you wrong?” ___ As the illegitimate daughter of an Alpha, Dorothy's life is anything but a fairytale. Born of scandal and shrouded in shame, she has spent her years as the pack’s punching bag—bullied, neglected, and scorned by the very people who should have protected her. But just when she believes her suffering has reached its peak, fate delivers the cruelest blow: she is fated to a man so feared, so ruthless, that even his name sends shivers down spines—Alpha Ace, the King of Alphas, a broken man haunted by the loss of his previous Luna. Unable to claim or reject her, Ace keeps Dorothy close, seeking the truth behind her existence. But as their bond deepens, they uncover dark secrets tied to their fate. Will they defy destiny’s cruel hand, or will history repeat itself?

Talia's POV:
I woke up with a shriek as my phone reminded me that it was, unfortunately, time to go to work.
"Stupid fucking alarm", I mumbled to myself. Dragging myself out of my bed, I looked at myself in the mirror placed right across my bed, I stared at the woman in front of me. "Not bad for someone who just woke up", I smirked proudly at myself. I wasn't exactly a 'super-model' or an 'i***a baddie',
I had stretch marks, rolls when I sat down and what I like to describe as a potbelly meaning that I was constantly bloated. But it all kind of worked for me...
I was still that bitch.
Walking into my bathroom, I took care of my basic hygienic needs before I dressed up into my nursing uniform, putting my dark hair in a bun and attempting to do my makeup.
I lived in this nice apartment by myself, and at the age of 22, I had accomplished a lot for myself. Wherever my parents were, I hoped they were proud of me.
Ordering an uber - because I can assist in surgeries, but had no coordination when it came to driving - I waited outside, when I spotted my next-door neighbour on the other side of the road screaming into his cell phone.
He waited a minute, listening to what the person on the receiving end had to say before the anger in his face quickly turned to fear. Anxiously, he looked around, seemingly searching for something or someone.
"Uber?" The man with the rolled down window said. "Oh yeah, thanks!" I replied.
I prayed to Jesus, Mary and Joseph that he didn't try to converse with me any further than he already had, I really just liked listening to music during car rides, especially with strangers, so I plugged my earphones into my phone and listened to my Spotify playlist called, 'Happiness is a Butterfly'.
Finally arriving at the hospital, I thanked my uber driver. I walked up to the reception, getting ready for the night nurses to hand over to me.
"What’s up, slut?" I immediately hear out of nowhere. "Well, good morning to you too bitch!" I laughed, turning around to give my favorite co-worker, Alexa, a hug. "Ready for a twelve-hour shift?" She groaned.
I worked at one of the hugest trauma centers in New York City as a trauma nurse.Which means that luckily for me, I got to deal with all the fun things like people getting shot, car accidents, drug overdoses. Not fun for the people experiencing these problems but for me, it was entertaining and fun. Fun to see these people get better, fun to tend to people’s wounds. I think I had a natural calling for nursing.
Or maybe it was because my mother was a nurse, and this was the only way I could feel connected with her.
“Alexa you ask me this question every single day and I give you the same damn answer, no.” I deadpanned.
She chuckled slightly before replying, “just making sure babe. Also, don’t make it obvious but there is total Greek God at the desk.”
Rolling my eyes at what she said, I turned around to face the man, hoping I could help him with whatever he needed help with, and fuck me, Alexa wasn’t lying.
I don’t know if it was the piercing green eyes that looked like they were looking through my soul, or maybe it was the jet-black hair that was styled out of his face allowing his jawline to be even more accentuated, but God, it was something. Something dark and deeper that drew me nearer to him. I was paying so much attention to his face that I totally missed what he was saying.
“I’m sorry what was that?” I spoke
A small smirk appeared on his lips and he replied, “Could you take me to my father?”
It sounded like he had just woken up from a heavy slumber. I wondered, if his voice were this deep now then what would it sound like when he had just woken up. Would it be rougher, with more edge to it? Would it be softer and a little bit croaky?
Oh my God Talia, have you lost your damn mind?
No longer leaning on the desk he raised a sharp eyebrow at me and asked, “Well?”
The more I listened to his voice the clearer it became that he wasn’t fully American. His accent sounded a bit slurred and had a little bit of force to it. Was it Spanish? Italian.
Attempting to pull myself together and not look like a total idiot I spoke “sure, could I have your name?”
He rolled his left sleeve up and then the right exposing me to the body art that stained his tanned skin and replied, “My name is Matteo, Matteo Russo and my father’s name is Alberto Russo. Take me to him.”
Does he realize how intimidating he is?
Circling around so I was standing right in front of him I said, “If you wait for me here then I’ll go find out where he is.”
He nodded and I walked over to one of the computers and pulled his father’s records.
His father, Alberto, was currently in surgery after getting shot in the lung.
“If you follow me then I can tell you what is going on.”
Shoving his hands in his pockets he spoke, “lead the way.”
We walked towards the room his father would be staying in after the surgery is over. After arriving I said, “So, the bullet penetrated your father’s lung and a piece of it is being removed now, however, because of how long it staying inside your father’s lung he has developed a PE which is basically a clot.
I held my breath as he leaned in closer to me and asked, “Just be honest with me, is he going to die? Because if he is just tell me now.”
Well, that’s the first.
Trying not to look to taken back I cleared my throat and replied, “He’s got a good chance a very good chance actually. He just needs to rest and recover after the surgery and he should be fine.”
I don't like to give familes false hope, but you would do it too if you had a 6’4 man standing right in front of you. The sound of many ambulances pulling up alerted me and I continued by saying, “I’m sorry Mr. Russo, I have to go. You can wait here until your father finishes his surgery.”
Cracking his neck to the side he pulled out a card from his side pocket and replied, “how about you just give me a call.”
I nodded and moved to leave the room when suddenly, his arm wrapped around mine, pulling me close to his body. He leaned down and murmured in my ear, “I don’t believe in chances but for you, I will. Don’t make me regret it.”
And with that, he walked away leaving me to think; what the fuck just happened?
No way the powerful wolf before her just licked her cheek and wagged his tail.Dorothy couldn't tear her eyes away from the wolf before her, her head tilted in confusion. Of all the scenarios she had imagined, this was nowhere close—it was far beyond anything she'd expected.“I—” She started, her voice breaking the heavy silence, hoping to dispel the awkward tension. But before she could say more, the wolf cut her off.Her heart sank as she heard his deep voice through the mindlink.“Mate. You’re here, you’re really here,” the wolf said, his voice brimming with excitement as he jumped up, a wide smile stretching across his face. But instead of calming Dorothy, the sight only made her more uneasy. That smile wasn’t comforting—it was the kind of smile killers wore right before striking their targets. Her eyes widened so much she feared they might pop out of their sockets.Ace? Oh, my goddess. It was Ace. Of all people, it had to be him. The one person she had prayed never to encounter a
Dorothy paced through the room, her steps heavy as she frowned, her hand rubbing her chin in deep thought—thoughts that were immediately interrupted by the loud growl of her stomach. She wrapped her arms around her midsection and sighed, dropping to the ground in defeat. She was so hungry. She hadn’t eaten anything all day, and all she could do was wander aimlessly, trying to keep herself busy since she couldn’t go outside. The last thing she wanted was to step out and find the devil of an Alpha waiting right outside the door, ready to chop her head off before she could say a word.So now, all she could do was pace and pretend she was lost in thought about how her life might unfold. But no matter how much she tried, every scenario she imagined ended the same way.Chop. Her life, over.“Alya, I'm so hungry,” Dorothy moaned, but Alya didn’t reply. She went dead silent, a wave of anger brewing within her. Earlier, Dorothy had gotten so furious about everything that she had cursed Ace out
Ace barged into his study, his sharp gaze immediately landing on Lucas and Sophia, who sprang to their feet and bowed in respect at the Alpha's arrival. With a curt nod of acknowledgment, Ace strode to his seat with the confidence of a man who commanded the world. He sank into the chair, leaning back lazily as his piercing eyes narrowed for a brief moment. It was happening again—the daze. Only this time, it wasn’t Eleanor, the woman who constantly haunted his thoughts. No, this time, it was Dorothy. Troublesome. Annoying. A constant thorn in his side. His lips twitched as if caught between a scowl and a laugh. He sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose before snapping back to reality, his eyes cold and detached as he asked, "Have you gotten any information about him yet?" Lucas and Sophia exchanged a brief, hesitant glance, pausing for a moment. Damn it. The Alpha seemed angrier and more terrifying than usual. Who would've thought Ace could get any scarier? They hadn't imagined it
“Fucking bastard!”Dorothy muttered under her breath, her eyes narrowed into a glare, her lips drawn into a childish pout, and her arms crossed tightly. And all of these expressions were while she was carried over Ace’s shoulder like a sack of potatoes.Let’s rewind a bit.Ace was carrying Dorothy toward the packhouse without the slightest change in expression. His usual composure, his emotionless demeanor, seemed carved deep within his bones, while Dorothy, in stark contrast, was more human—she felt things, and she expressed them. As people froze in shock and whispered around her about how a girl was being carried by the infamous Alpha King, her face turned bright red. She stared at Ace’s back, hitting and screaming for him to let her down.“She hit the king! She’s going to die!” The conversation quickly shifted to gossip about how she’d dared to hit Ace, and she froze, realizing what she had done. But before she could even utter an apology, Ace did something unexpected. He spanked h
“So you’re saying you want to take her with you?” Ace asked, pointing a finger at Dorothy, an eyebrow raised in dry amusement.Dorothy instinctively hid further behind Killian as she felt Ace’s gaze sweep over her for a brief moment. Her heart pounded in her chest, and she froze when she felt the suffocating killing intent radiating from him.She was scared shitless, even her wolf who seemed to have a brain as small as a mustard seed whimpered and didn't dare say a word. Now, imagine how Killian must’ve felt. The full brunt of that killing intent was directed at him. Before Dorothy could process what was happening, she watched in stunned silence as Killian’s legs buckled beneath him, and he crumpled to the ground. Blood sprayed from his mouth, his body shaking violently as he coughed, desperately trying to fight against the wave of pain threatening to consume him.“A-Alpha!” Dorothy gasped, her eyes wide with horror and disbelief. Without thinking, she rushed to Killian’s side, kneeli
“What do you think you’re doing?” Ace’s voice was ice cold, his eyebrow arched as he took in the scene before him. His so-called mate was in the arms of another man—another man, one he swore he’d seen before but couldn't remember. Ace’s cold, empty eyes locked onto Killian, his gaze sharp enough to cut through steel. It was a look that made Killian feel a chill race down his spine. Without thinking, his grip on Dorothy loosened, and he instinctively stepped back, his muscles stiffening with the silent, deadly tension that filled the air. This killing intent—Killian had never felt anything like it before. And he’d been in his fair share of trouble. Killian was the kind of person who, no matter how chilled he tried to be, ended up in all sorts of messes, most of them caused by his own damnable good looks.Women flocked to him, unable to resist his charm, and their husbands? Well, they weren’t exactly thrilled about it, especially the Alphas who picked fights with him on the regular.Bu
