A week had passed since that incident and the anticipated day had finally arrived. The event started and the party was in full swing.
That day Agnes saw the Alpha at the front door of the house and dragged him in wanting to rip off his clothes. Dorothy was just grateful he found that day funny enough to laugh about it or she dreads what would have happened to them.
Alphas, betas, gammas, and other high-ranking wolves began to associate and mingle with themselves, their presences laced with power making the air suffocating to the omegas serving them.
Dorothy, well she was currently standing as her aunt spat out both words and spit at her. She wiped her face with the sleeve of her shirt with a deadpan expression
“You are not allowed to step a foot out of this house, you hear me?” her aunt yelled as she held Isabella towards the door. Isabella smirked, twirling a strand of hair around her finger, the end of her dress trailing behind her.
Seemed like her aunt spent a fortune on that dress.
The lock to the door sounded as she stood in the house and Dorothy's expression suddenly brightened.
Time to have fun.
Running to her room, she peeked through her glass window. Rows of gorgeous people filled the pack and everywhere was lively.
Seeing that everyone is preoccupied and busy. She smiled, adrenaline coursing through her veins as she pulled the baseball cap over her face. Opening the window, she moved towards the place with fewer people before effortlessly jumping down, her feet making no sound as they touched the ground.
The forest was dense and eerily quiet. The scent of the surroundings, a rich earthy aroma filled her nose as she ran. The sound of the fallen leaves by the wind and the chirping sounds of birds was all she could hear.
Taking a deep breath, she stopped under a big tree. The towering tree covered the moon as its leaves rustled gently in the breeze. This was her safe place, a hidden location that no one in the pack but her mother knew about, this was the little space where her deepest secret was exposed under the eyes of the moon goddess alone.
She removed the cap, letting her hair flow, a striking red that seemed to glow in the dark forest. Her clothes were next, they fell to the ground and soon she stood there naked with nothing.
Her bones began to crack, shaping and mending themselves to take another form. A low growl erupted from her throat and she bolted through the forest, her paws pounding against the earth. The wet ground was beneath her, the night cool air filled her lungs with each breath she took, and her heart thudded as she dodged trees, hearing the snapping of twigs beneath her paws.
Dorothy has a hidden secret kept from her pack, a secret she hid when she turned fourteen.
Standing at the edge of the lake, she glanced at her reflection, and a pure white wolf with eyes of silver as cold as frost stared right back.
A white wolf, the strongest and most sought-after female breed of wolves. The ones directly blessed by the moon goddess.
“Ah, it's good to be out” a voice in her head purred.
Pure white female wolves, a breed usually sought after by alphas, their scent was very attractive to them. They are sold and snatched, seen as objects for breeding since they give birth to stronger offspring.
Despite being a rare and strong kind among wolves, they are used as nothing more than sex slaves and are immediately marked by alphas as trophies.
At the age of fourteen, when Dorothy found out she was a white wolf, she immediately decided to hide that secret for the sake of protecting herself for she knew that she would be sold off in a heartbeat by her family if they found out.
“Oh my Moon goddess, it is so good to be back” Her wolf, Alya lamented once again in her mind. “This week was just so suffocating, I can't do this anymore”
Alya sniffed which earned a chuckle from Dorothy.
“Tell me again” Dorothy knew that it had been tough, especially for Alya. She could not sneak out every night like she used to for fear of getting caught with how busy the week was. She could feel the restlessness from the impatient wolf every time she went to bed and it didn't make it better from all the provocations she got in school.
“I swear to Moon Goddess, I was this close to ripping that bratty wanna-be Barbie’s head off, who wants that sorry excuse of a player she calls a mate” Alya sneered as they communicated telepathically.
“Now that would be bad” Dorothy muttered, leaning to get a drink from the lake. The color of her fur glistening under the full moon.
Alya didn't reply. They had different views on life. Her wolf believed that they could survive if they ran away but she knew the outside world wouldn't be any better than this. She would just be a hunted wolf but at least now she had the safety of her pack if she hides the truth well.
“Do you think we would find our mate?” the bored wolf asked as they walked through the forest.
The word mate wasn't in Dorothy's dictionary. Her wolf always had a feeling that their fated mate would come and save them like those in the fairytale but Dorothy did not believe it was possible. No one would accept her since she wasn't worthy of love.
“I doubt that-”
She wasn't able to complete her sentence, the snapping of branches from her right got her attention. Her head whipped to the side as she growled, her fangs out and her claws extending in a defensive position. The sight was clear and no one was there but she could catch a sniff of something or someone.
“Maybe it was an animal” the voice in her stated but they both knew no animal could disappear that fast.

Yesterday's party was successful. Jessica found her mate, the beta of the black fangs pack, a well-renounced pack that is close to the Shadowmoon pack, and James, her brother, and the future Alpha found his Luna, the Alpha’s daughter of another pack, the frostbite pack.
“Fuckers” Dorothy muttered under her breath as she looked at the destroyed locker. Torn pieces of books lay on the floor before her, the red words painted on the wall just above the locker had spelled the words.
A whore mother will always give birth to a whore.
“What a loser,” she heard Jessica snicker and the rest of the people in the hallway burst out laughing.
“Deep breath, deep breath” she could hear Alya growl, begging to be let out and tear every one of them into shreds, and oh goddess she was about to do just that.
Dorothy reached for her torn notes, gathering the shredded pieces on the floor as she tried to calm the growing anger inside her.
“Look, even her whore mother died because she didn't want her”
Alright, that did it.
Dorothy got up and stormed over to Jessica and her friends, fury blazed in her eyes and she could feel Alya taking over. She was tasty for blood and some debt had to be paid.
Everyone’s eyes widened as they felt the tension in the air. Just as Dorothy’s hand was about to reach the neck of her target, she came to a halt and turned around as the sound of clapping filled the air.
“Stunning, just beautiful…” A low male voice could be heard and everything instantly quieted down. Standing in front of her is Alpha Killian. His blue eyes stared directly at Dorothy and no one else.
I'm dead. She thought.
Dorothy’s eyebrow shot up and she backed away, if only she had a bit more self-control.
She tried to sneak away but the next words stopped her in her tracks.
“You are that white female wolf from last night, ain't you” his head tilted to the side and a sickening smirk appeared on his lips.

Dorothy tapped her feet on the floor, she felt her body go numb and her legs would have given out if it wasn't for the fact that she was currently sitting on the chair. A chair right outside her father’s study
She was in trouble.
She had been found out by that blond Alpha and worse he was the Alpha of the black fang pack, the pack where Jessica’s mate belonged. There was only one outcome to this she could think of.
“Come in” a cold voice sounded behind the door
Dorothy gulped and pushed the door open, her hands sweaty as she walked into the study. There were two people inside, Alpha Ryan and Beta Liam, his second in command seemed to be in a heated discussion as they ignored her.
“So the Nightclaw pack are the ones hosting the annual summit tomorrow?” Alpha Ryan asked as he sat behind his massive oak desk, his expression as stern and unyielding as ever.
Dorothy stood by the door, trying to hide her presence.
“Yes Alpha” The beta replied
“The King’s pack?” his eyes shot up in surprise. “But that is impossible, the king hasn’t appeared or opened up his pack to outsiders in so many years after that incident’’
Her eyes perked as she listened in, her curiosity taking over than she would like to admit.
Everyone knew the story surrounding the Nightclaw’s pack. They are the most powerful and feared pack in the world. Led by Alpha Ace, a man many would call ruthless. He is a Lycan with unmatched strength, said to be the direct descendant of the moon goddess. He is feared by werewolves, and they call him the ‘King Of Alphas’.
But then one day Luna died in his arms and rumors have it that after that fateful day, he ran mad. He killed anyone he was involved in her death one way or the other, and then afterward he began with wolves that trespassed in his borders. He showed no one mercy and his hands were stained with the countless lives he took, after the killings he suddenly went into seclusion and never appeared again.
Dorothy felt a pang of sorrow strike her chest as she recalled the story.
“You there” A voice called out jolting her from her trance. She bowed her head, not wanting to meet her father's gaze, she was afraid the hatred would be seen in hers.
“Look up” Alpha Ryan commanded.
She did exactly that. Her eyes met a pair of indifferent ones, his eyes ranked up her body, accessing her.
“You look like Elara, your mother”.
How dare he say her name. She thought as her hand clenched into a fist.
“What is your name?” Alpha Ryan asked.
“Dorothy”
He nodded and took a deep breath. “You are to follow us to the annual summit tomorrow then afterward, you will follow Alpha Killian to his pack” he stated and his tone left no room for argument.
Great, she had been sold to the blondie.

Dorothy stirred in her sleep, her breath heavy and uneven. Her heart pounded and her brows furrowed, her body drenched in sweat as she murmured under her breath.
"Seek him out" A voice, otherworldly yet hauntingly beautiful said. "You are the gift I have chosen for him so save him from his demons”.
The voice echoed in the black void, leaving an eerie presence in its wake.
Her eyes snapped open and she sat up, clutching her chest in pain. Her trembling form looked around in search of the voice, it was just a dream but it felt like the words had been spoken to her ear.
“Are you okay?” Alya asked and Dorothy relaxed, nodding her head.
“Just the bad dreams” she replied but Alya didn't say anything.
It wasn't a dream, she heard it too.
Dorothy could feel her nerves as she stepped out of the limousine. Many eyes immediately stared at her, she was a vision to behold. She was dressed up for the first time today. The golden gown clung to her figure in all the right places, her red hair had been curled and let loose. Elegance was a simple way to describe how she looked. People's attention was easily turned towards her as she made her way with her pack with Alpha Ryan leading the group. She turned around intrigued, her heart thumping as she realized she was inside the borders of the most powerful pack.Maybe it was excitement or fear but everyone else felt the same way. They couldn't believe that after so many years, the king had allowed them a chance to enter the borders of his pack. Some hoped they could get the opportunity to see Alpha Ace but he was nowhere to be found. The atmosphere was tense as everyone made their way to the ballroom. The Nightclaw pack truly lived up to its expectations, rows of gorgeous and pow
No fucking way. Impossible. Whatever phrases you could use in the dictionary to describe this situation. She could hardly believe any of this was real but standing there with her rapid heartbeat seemed to have proven she wasn't dreaming and what was even more surprising was that this breathtaking man before her was hers, her mate. Damn.“Mate” she could hear Alya moan out in her head and she could feel her excitement and by the moon goddess she felt the need to pounce on him too.A sharp scream jolted her from her trance and that was when she noticed ‘her mate’ had thrown the man who he held in his grip away and he was now inching closer towards her. Something seemed to have clicked in her head and she covered her mouth, stepping away from the man that screamed danger despite Alya’s objection. Dorothy didn't know when he closed the distance that was once between them but his arms found their way to her waist, pulling her towards him before holding her by the chin as he moved close
Time seemed to stretch out as Ace and Dorothy stared at each other, the world blurred around them and it felt like there was no one else aside from them at that moment. Dorothy touched her chest, expecting the harsh pain to grip her and drive her insane but nothing came. She didn't feel anything– maybe she had high tolerance to pain, that was her first thought as she stared in confusion. Ace frowned, sensing something was wrong. He knew he wouldn't feel any pain, he was much stronger than to feel a mere pain of rejection but– he narrowed his eyes at her, leaning in closer than they already were. The connection was still there, she was still his mate. “Your name?” He asked without an ounce of emotion in his voice. “W-what?” She managed to blurt out before she could stop herself. “What is your name?” He repeated like he was talking to a child. “Dorothy” She didn't know why she answered but it came out from her mouth. She could hear Alya call her stupid in her head and she inwar
“Eleanor!” The man’s figure cradled her body tightly, desperate to find any sign of life, any reassurance from her gradually dull expression, even a false hope would do. “Please Eleanor, please…” he pleaded, his voice breaking at the end. Her hand, despite being weak, stretched out to wipe the falling tears, the man sobbed, whispering words of assurance but they both knew who they were for. “I'm sorry, I couldn't fulfill the promise” Eleanor whispered through painful gasps, her voice barely audible but he heard it. His grip on her tightened, refusing to face the cruel reality, he muttered under his breaths but she couldn't hear his words anymore for her life began to slip away with each passing moment. “Eleanor!” Dorothy’s eyes shot open and she sat up, gasping for air. Her hand came clutching her neck in pain and she groaned as she weakly laid down back. Her strength seemed drained and she didn't seem remember her dream but she had been crying yet again. She wiped her tear
Witch Doctor!? Dorothy stared in horror, thinking she had misheard his words but judging from his stoic expression, he didn't seem like he was the kind to joke. She watched as Lucas walked in with the elderly woman from earlier by his side, her eyes were narrowed at Dorothy and her stare made Dorothy move back in slight fear. Dorothy didn't know much about witch doctors but she knew they were different from pack diviners like Agnes. Witch doctors practiced dark magic, worshiping unknown gods while the pack diviners worshiped the Moon goddess, getting prophecies and visions from her. Agnes had warned her to stay away from them. She had told Dorothy that they killed people and offered their bodies to their gods as sacrifices. Agnes told her that witch doctors carried bad luck on them, and they were extremely cunning and that she should run whenever she came across one. Now why the hell was there a witch doctor advancing towards her. Dorothy swallowed and Ace moved away, allowing t
I've heard so much about you, Dorothy," she said, her voice smooth, a warm smile playing on her lips. "Shall we have a little... chat?". Dorothy swallowed nervously, her heart beating fast against her chest. How did she know about her, she doubted anyone in her pack knew her that well to be able to say so much about her and she was as hell sure their words weren't nice at all. The most they would probably say was that she was a slutty omega who would seduce men in the pack and that wasn't true. So what did Lyra hear about her? “Why are you so scared of me?” Lyra asked Dorothy as she drew nearer and sat on the door beside her. Dorothy smiled nervously and tried to say she wasn't, because of course she wouldn't give Lyra the idea of using her body for sacrifice. “I am sorry for being jumpy, I am not scared of you. I'm just tired”. Dorothy lied through her teeth without blinking. Lyra frowned and suddenly, her bony fingers curled towards Dorothy like creeping claws, her eyes gl
Dorothy came out of the shower with her new dress. It was white in color and the dress clung to her figure in all the right places. Her red hair dripped with water as she used a towel to dry it. She was stunning, beyond beautiful and Sofia had seemed to stare at her for too long .“Hm” Dorothy brought Sofia out of her trance and Sofia smiled, walking to take the towel to help dry Dorothy’s hair. “Thank you” Dorothy muttered, a faint smile tugging at her lips."It's no problem. I'm glad to help," Sofia said with a warm smile. Dorothy felt a flicker of warmth in her heart. It had been a long time since someone had dried her hair—her mother used to do it back then but she had forgotten her touch, her laughter that she missed it so much. When Sofia was done, she forced Dorothy to put on makeup."I don't think—" Dorothy started, shaking her head. Why would she even bother putting on makeup right now? It wasn’t like Ace was dying to see her, and besides, wasn’t she in the middle of a seriou
“You know,” Eleanor suddenly turned towards Ace with a bright smile that seemed to dazzle the entire place. Her eyes sparkled, curving slightly from the radiance of her smile, and her steps were light as sunlight streamed through the windows of the garden. Ace froze in his steps, and for a moment, he admired his beautiful Luna—the only woman, no, the only person who could bring a smile to his face. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, and she was his—only his. “Ace, Ace. Are you there?” Eleanor frowned when she noticed Ace wasn’t listening to her. He seemed lost in a daze, and a pout made its way to her lips. Was she so boring that he pretended not to hear what she was saying? Hmph, What an annoying, insanely attractive, tall man. Ace tilted his head and blinked when he saw her pout, her glare directed at him. She looked like an angry cat upset at its owner for not giving her attention. She was so cute, and he wanted to stroke her head, but he fought the urge, clenchin
No way the powerful wolf before her just licked her cheek and wagged his tail.Dorothy couldn't tear her eyes away from the wolf before her, her head tilted in confusion. Of all the scenarios she had imagined, this was nowhere close—it was far beyond anything she'd expected.“I—” She started, her voice breaking the heavy silence, hoping to dispel the awkward tension. But before she could say more, the wolf cut her off.Her heart sank as she heard his deep voice through the mindlink.“Mate. You’re here, you’re really here,” the wolf said, his voice brimming with excitement as he jumped up, a wide smile stretching across his face. But instead of calming Dorothy, the sight only made her more uneasy. That smile wasn’t comforting—it was the kind of smile killers wore right before striking their targets. Her eyes widened so much she feared they might pop out of their sockets.Ace? Oh, my goddess. It was Ace. Of all people, it had to be him. The one person she had prayed never to encounter a
Dorothy paced through the room, her steps heavy as she frowned, her hand rubbing her chin in deep thought—thoughts that were immediately interrupted by the loud growl of her stomach. She wrapped her arms around her midsection and sighed, dropping to the ground in defeat. She was so hungry. She hadn’t eaten anything all day, and all she could do was wander aimlessly, trying to keep herself busy since she couldn’t go outside. The last thing she wanted was to step out and find the devil of an Alpha waiting right outside the door, ready to chop her head off before she could say a word.So now, all she could do was pace and pretend she was lost in thought about how her life might unfold. But no matter how much she tried, every scenario she imagined ended the same way.Chop. Her life, over.“Alya, I'm so hungry,” Dorothy moaned, but Alya didn’t reply. She went dead silent, a wave of anger brewing within her. Earlier, Dorothy had gotten so furious about everything that she had cursed Ace out
Ace barged into his study, his sharp gaze immediately landing on Lucas and Sophia, who sprang to their feet and bowed in respect at the Alpha's arrival. With a curt nod of acknowledgment, Ace strode to his seat with the confidence of a man who commanded the world. He sank into the chair, leaning back lazily as his piercing eyes narrowed for a brief moment. It was happening again—the daze. Only this time, it wasn’t Eleanor, the woman who constantly haunted his thoughts. No, this time, it was Dorothy. Troublesome. Annoying. A constant thorn in his side. His lips twitched as if caught between a scowl and a laugh. He sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose before snapping back to reality, his eyes cold and detached as he asked, "Have you gotten any information about him yet?" Lucas and Sophia exchanged a brief, hesitant glance, pausing for a moment. Damn it. The Alpha seemed angrier and more terrifying than usual. Who would've thought Ace could get any scarier? They hadn't imagined it
“Fucking bastard!”Dorothy muttered under her breath, her eyes narrowed into a glare, her lips drawn into a childish pout, and her arms crossed tightly. And all of these expressions were while she was carried over Ace’s shoulder like a sack of potatoes.Let’s rewind a bit.Ace was carrying Dorothy toward the packhouse without the slightest change in expression. His usual composure, his emotionless demeanor, seemed carved deep within his bones, while Dorothy, in stark contrast, was more human—she felt things, and she expressed them. As people froze in shock and whispered around her about how a girl was being carried by the infamous Alpha King, her face turned bright red. She stared at Ace’s back, hitting and screaming for him to let her down.“She hit the king! She’s going to die!” The conversation quickly shifted to gossip about how she’d dared to hit Ace, and she froze, realizing what she had done. But before she could even utter an apology, Ace did something unexpected. He spanked h
“So you’re saying you want to take her with you?” Ace asked, pointing a finger at Dorothy, an eyebrow raised in dry amusement.Dorothy instinctively hid further behind Killian as she felt Ace’s gaze sweep over her for a brief moment. Her heart pounded in her chest, and she froze when she felt the suffocating killing intent radiating from him.She was scared shitless, even her wolf who seemed to have a brain as small as a mustard seed whimpered and didn't dare say a word. Now, imagine how Killian must’ve felt. The full brunt of that killing intent was directed at him. Before Dorothy could process what was happening, she watched in stunned silence as Killian’s legs buckled beneath him, and he crumpled to the ground. Blood sprayed from his mouth, his body shaking violently as he coughed, desperately trying to fight against the wave of pain threatening to consume him.“A-Alpha!” Dorothy gasped, her eyes wide with horror and disbelief. Without thinking, she rushed to Killian’s side, kneeli
“What do you think you’re doing?” Ace’s voice was ice cold, his eyebrow arched as he took in the scene before him. His so-called mate was in the arms of another man—another man, one he swore he’d seen before but couldn't remember. Ace’s cold, empty eyes locked onto Killian, his gaze sharp enough to cut through steel. It was a look that made Killian feel a chill race down his spine. Without thinking, his grip on Dorothy loosened, and he instinctively stepped back, his muscles stiffening with the silent, deadly tension that filled the air. This killing intent—Killian had never felt anything like it before. And he’d been in his fair share of trouble. Killian was the kind of person who, no matter how chilled he tried to be, ended up in all sorts of messes, most of them caused by his own damnable good looks.Women flocked to him, unable to resist his charm, and their husbands? Well, they weren’t exactly thrilled about it, especially the Alphas who picked fights with him on the regular.Bu
"Stupid, stupid, stupid," Dorothy muttered, smacking her forehead with every word as she stomped out of the garden. Her wolf, Alya, was babbling nonstop in her head, and Dorothy was ready to dig a hole and scream into it."Did you see how hot our mate was?" Alya sighed dreamily, clearly unbothered by the catastrophe they just escaped. "And his wolf, Damien, oh goddess! He’s such a sweetheart. I just know we’d have the best run through the woods together. Imagine us running together in the woods, under the moonlight!"“Romance?!” Dorothy cut her off, throwing her hands in the air. “Did you miss the part where he basically told us to jump off a cliff and save him the trouble?”Alya scoffed. "He didn’t exactly say that. He’s just being a grumpy alpha. You know how they are—cold on the outside, warm and gooey on the inside."Dorothy snorted so hard she nearly tripped over a rock. “Gooey? Woman, the only thing warm about him is probably the fire he’ll throw me into if I so much as appeared
“What did you say?” he muttered, his voice barely a whisper.Dorothy seemed to have fallen into a trance as she stared at the man before her. Tears streamed down her cheeks, glistening like delicate crystals. Her heart hurt—it ached unbearably, as if something within her was missing, something she wanted to remember but couldn’t grasp, no matter how hard she tried.“Ace, I—I missed you so much. I really did,” Dorothy whispered, the words slipping from her lips before she could stop herself.Ignoring the pain of Ace’s strong grip, she took a step closer, her legs trembling but determined. She stopped just inches away from him, her hand hesitantly reaching for his face.Ace stood frozen, his heart pounding wildly in his chest as Dorothy’s thumb gently stroked his cheek. Her touch was soft, yet it carried a sadness that pierced through him. She offered him a sad smile, and for a fleeting moment, the image of Eleanor overlapped with hers.It was as if Eleanor was standing there in Dorothy
