Chapter Three

Laura’s POV

I was lost in my thoughts, I felt like I was dreaming. Hunter flirted with me. He flirted me with. Hunter and I have never been close, hell we don’t even speak much to each other. We were only cool with each other because of Rick. Fuck I don’t know what to say. I don’t know how I find Hunter. I mean I think I find him hot but I’m not sure. I have never thought about us together.

“Laura say something.” He said breaking me out of my thoughts.

“I don’t know what to say?.”

“You know if you are been complimented you are supposed to say thank you.”

I took a breath and spoke. “Thank you.”

Hunter smiled, he had this beautiful smile. God, now I think I’m becoming crazy. I’m thinking about him.

The next thing Hunter said changed everything between us. I knew after that question we weren’t friends anymore. He felt more for me.

“Would you go on a date with me?”

I need my girlfriends I’m freaking out. I don’t want to say no but at the same time, I don’t know if I should say yes. I would love to know more about Hunter. I have always wondered what he was thinking because he is always quiet. I need to calm the fuck down and speak.

“I’m going out with my friends tonight.” I didn’t lie, I’m actually planning on a girl's night out today. I miss my girlfriends and I want to hang out with them. I might even invite Nelly so everyone could meet her.

“Oh. How about tomorrow night.”

“Sure.”

“I will pick you up.” He said while smiling.

What is happening, if anyone told me a year ago I will agree to go on a date with Hunter I would laugh in their face but there I am. I’m saying yes to going on a date with Hunter. Guys Hunter. I need to speak to my girlfriends they are going to freak out when they find out.

Hunter and I glanced at each other, I had no idea what to say I guess neither, did he. We remained quiet and looked at each other. I slowly took a sip out of my juice.

“What are you guys doing in the kitchen?.” We turned to be met by Rick.

Thank God he is here. I was getting bored of the awkwardness.

“I came to get some juice and Hunter and I were just talking.” Rick looked at us weirdly mainly because Hunter and I never talk, like we never talk.

“Whatever. Come on I need to show you something.” Before I could say anything. Rick dragged me by the hand and took me into the living room.

“What do you want me to see?.” I asked once we got to the living room.

The living room was scattered, looks like Rick had a fight here, one of the couches was on the floor.

“Did you fail the game?” I asked already knowing the answer. This is a usual habit of Rick whenever he plays a game and fails. He ends up creating a mess. I remember when I invited him over for a game at home, mom was working overnight so I invited Rick. We played a game on his ps and he failed badly. Rick didn’t take that well, anything I win Rick will pick up anything and throw it on the floor. I had to clear everything up that day.

“Bad habits never die, Rick,” I said.

“Shut up. That’s not important.”

“So what’s important,” I asked with a smile on my face.

“I had the greatest idea while you were in the kitchen.”

“It’s a stupid one, I’m sure.” We heard hunter’s deep voice, he was standing by the kitchen door.

“Shush. Let’s hear it first.” I said to Hunter. I’m still avoiding eye contact. I don’t know what to say to him. He just asked me on a date and I said yes. I need a girl talk right now.

“Alright. Tomorrow we could bunk school and go somewhere fun. It’s been a long we had fun together.” Hauter and I turned and looked at each other. It’s not a bad idea, I hate school and it’s a good time to spend with Rick.

“That’s a good idea.”

“See I told you it’s a good one.” Rick smiled.

“It’s a good one,” Hunter added.

Rick smiled and hugged me. He had this habit of always hugging me. Now I feel a bit weird though because Hunter is looking at us and I’m going on a date with him and I don’t even know if I want things to work out between me and him. It could be a friendly date and not the kind of date I’m thinking about, right guys?

I really need that girl talk. I am feeling messed up in the head.

Rick, Hunter, and I were seated in the living room, we ordered a pizza and we are waiting for it. God, I feel like they are taking so long.

Ding.

“That’s the bell,” I said while standing up.

I got to the door and collected the pizza. I’m starved. We ordered two large pizzas because Rick and Hunter eat more than necessary, just last week Rick ate a full spaghetti alone. God is it only Rick or do men who eat a lot?

“Pizza is here,” I announced once I got to the dining room.

We ate the pizza and Hunter and Rick fought for the last slice. I took a video of them I can’t wait to post those embarrassing videos during their birthdays.

“Miss me bye, I will see you tomorrow,” I said to Rick, it was getting late and I decide to go back home. I don’t want mom to come home and not find me there. She would ask questions she doesn’t want answers to. I had no idea if I should give Hunter a goodbye hug. Everything is becoming weird. I decided to say goodbye to Hunter. I walked toward him.

“Goodbye Hunter, see you tomorrow,” I said to Hunter.

“Can’t wait to see you on the date.” He said to me.

I smiled and walked away, while walking home I sent a quick text to the girls.

Message-

Laura- Let’s have a sleepover at my house today. I have something very important to talk about.

Vicky- We have school tomorrow.

Bella- She is right.

Layla- Who cares about school?

Mia- Exactly and we can bring our clothes and leave for school tomorrow together.

Vicky- She is right.

Laura- Come on guys say yes. I have something very important to tell you guys.

Vicky- Alright I will come for the gossip.

After my friends agreed to come for a sleepover. I sent a quick text to mom telling her my friends would be coming over, as usually mom said okay and she won’t be back tonight because she has a night shift. Mom has a demanding job so I never get to see her much, I could go days without seeing my mother, she always kept enough food in the fridge and made sure to check up on me through the phone.

Reaching home, I took my bath and got dressed in my pajamas. We can sleep in the living room, I’m sure the girls won’t mind.

I walked downstairs and into the kitchen, I made some popcorn and connected N*****x to the Tv. It’s going to be a long night of gossip and girl talk. I heard the sound of the bell ringing.

“They are here.”

“So what’s the gossip,” Vicky asked once we settled in the living room. Bella, Vicky, Layla, and Mia were there. They are excited to hear what I’m about to say.

“Hunter asked me to a date.” I blurted out. Everyone had a shocked reaction.

“The Hunter,” Vicky said.

“Rick’s friend Hunter,” Mia said.

“How the hell did it happen,” Layla said.

“Did you say yes?” Bella asked.

“Everyone calm down, I said yes I don’t know why I did. I don’t even know if it’s a friendly date or that kind of date. I’m freaking out guys.” I say on one of the sleeping bags, rubbing my forehead with my hands.

“Tell us what lead to that question. Everything I mean everything detail.” Mia said.

I told him how he came into the kitchen, called me sexy and beautiful, and then asked me on a date.

“I think it’s not a friendly date,” Vicky said.

“Me too,” Mia said.

“But what if it is,” I asked, deep down I wished it is not a friendly date.

“You will find out tomorrow. Just ask him, be clear take control. Know what he has in mind.” Layla said.

She does know how to advise a person.

“You are right. I will ask and take control.” I said.

“I never thought Hunter would ask you on a date. I always thought Rick will.” Vicky said.

“Eww. We are best friends.” I said.

“You guys act like you are lovers Laura,” Mia said

“Whatever guys,” I said. Rick and I never no, many people think we are a couple but we are not, there is nothing between us and can never be, I’m sure Rick doesn’t see me that way.

My friends and I continued to talk and enjoy the night. We decided to watch a movie when I got a text from Nelly.
