Chapter Ninety-Eight: Problem

Samantha's POV

“Mom, I'm worried. You told me you'd come home at the end of the month,” I said. They looked at each other. Dad let out a heavy sigh while looking at the screen. They had just messaged me that they can't come home this month.

“Baby, we can’t. We’re still dealing with something important,” Dad said. I frowned. I thought they were going to come home today.

“Don’t worry, we’ll find a way to come back. It’s just that we’re too busy, sweetie,” Mom added. I could see how tired they both were.

“Mom, Dad, is something wrong with the company? Please, tell me,” I pleaded. Mom looked away while Dad seemed uncertain about whether or not they should tell me the truth.

“We don’t want to worry you, Sam, but we’re facing a lot of problems with the company. We’re losing investors because of some stupid mistakes! Your mom and I are doing everything we can to make up for it, but it’s hard,” Dad admitted
