I was about to sleep when my phone buzzed. I thought it was Jane or Anna, but I was surprised to see it was Mom calling me. I hurried to answer it. I smiled at the screen, but it faded when I saw their sad faces.

“Mom, what is it? What happened? Why do you guys look sad?” I asked worriedly. They looked at the screen while Mom’s face was on the verge of tears.

“Tell her, Philip,” Mom said as tears started to fall on her cheeks. I bit my bottom lip while my heart raced.

“What is it, Dad? Don’t make me worried,” I told them. Dad looked at me, holding his forehead in frustration.
