Samantha's POV

Mom and Dad called me last night. I don’t know what got into them, but they said they’ll be visiting Diego’s condominium today. That’s why yesterday, I printed and framed our wedding pictures.

“Just act normal,” I kept telling him. I don’t have a problem with Dad, but with Mom? She’s very observant. She always thinks there’s something suspicious about me—mother’s instinct, I guess.

“You’ve said that a hundred times already,” he replied as we busied ourselves preparing lunch.

“Of course. I just want to make sure Mom won’t get suspicious of us,” I said while washing the meat.

He’s cutting onions, and I watch him do it. “Where did you learn to cook?” I asked curiously. He placed the onions in a small bowl after chopping them, then grabbed some green onions.
