I can't believe my wedding day was finally here.

The morning of my wedding to George began in a daze of rose-colored light and breathless excitement, like a dream I was trying to hold onto but that kept slipping through my fingers. Sunlight pooled through the soft curtains, dusting everything in gold, and I had to remind myself to breathe as I took in the day that, for so long, I had only imagined.

I stepped into my dress with a careful blend of nerves and awe, feeling the delicate lace and silk slide over my shoulders and down to the floor. My bridesmaids, my closest friends, gathered around me, laughter spilling out from all of us in bursts as they adjusted my veil, fluffed the skirt, and fussed over every tiny detail. It was surreal seeing myself in the mirror seeing myself as this person, this bride and knowing in a matter of hours, I would be his.
