37. The silver cage

[Zephyr]

“Show yourself…” Willa warned.

Reese looked at me. Questions flooded his eyes with confusion. He removed my hand from his mouth and gave a curt nod.

He lifted his hand to his shoulder in a surrendering gesture and slowly emerged from behind the wall in front of Willa and the other light benders.

I stayed behind the wall.

The light benders pointed their wands at Reese.

“Put down your wands,” Willa ordered.

The light benders looked at each other and then at Willa.

“Reese?” Willa exclaimed.

Reese strode down the stairs, peering at Willa.

“What is going on here, mother? Why are you dressed like that? Where is this and where is sister?”

Willa sneaked a glance at the light benders and then ascended the stairs near Reese.

“What are you doing here? How did you come here? Is your father here as well?” she asked with a pale face.

“Why would he be here? He is searching for sister and told me to search for you. I came here through a strange wall in your room. But why is my sister here?
