Chapter 3

I replied in affirmative. He dropped me near my house and returned to his home.

Huff, after a long day, I was finally home.I rushed to the door and rang the doorbell.

I hugged my mom as soon as she opened the door.

It had been somewhat like the happiest day of my life.My mom asked me to freshen myself and come down for dinner.

I was so fixed in deep thoughts that I didn't even see what mom had cooked but instead ate like a hungry pig.

After the dinner, mom came to me and asked, "What's wrong with you?Before you used to hate 'Capsicum' a lot but today you ate it as if it was your favourite food."

"What? Capsicum?," I said as I ran off to the washroom and barfed all over.

The next day, I came of my bathroom all dressed up in a beautiful white silk blouse and a black skirt that William had selected for me the previous day.

I came out of my house and was about to call a taxi when a Mercedes arrived. 

William came out of the car and asked if he could drop me.

"What? You came all the way here just to take me along? Oh, how sweet of you," I said.

"Well, you are my teammate and we'll miss out training if you arrive late. So I'm just being responsible. By the way, looks like you wore the clothes I bought you yesterday. You look beautiful," he said.

"Thank you," I replied. 

Then off we went to the Typhoon Gaming Company.

As we entered the building, we saw some of the recruits waiting for their respective mentors to arrive.

We stood there and waited for some time. Soon some people in office attires came to the room.

They introduced themselves to their respective teams as their mentors.

Surprisingly our mentor was Mrs Laura Smith.

What? William's mom, the God's wife , that is, the goddess of gaming is our mentor? Am I dreaming?

"Hello, I'm Laura Smith. I'm your mentor from now on," she introduced herself, "By the way, you may also know me as William's mom."

"So, you are my future daughter-in-law, ha? Nice choice, William. I wish you both best of luck. Don't worry. I'll make sure to give you both enough privacy," she continued.

"What? What is going on?," I said as I was in deep shock. But on the other side I was quite surprised as well. 

"Well, the thing is that my mom asked me about my partner, that is you. So when showed your photo and told her about you. She was very happy and told that if anyone were to be her daughter-in-law, it would be you," he said.

I was quite surprised.

"Well, if you don't want to marry my son, it's alright. You can just leave the company," Mrs Smith said.

Eh? I hardly managed to join this company but now you are going to kick me out, just because I refused to marry your son!

"What do I do?," I whispered in William's ears. "Just agree with everything she says for now," he replied.

"Alright," I said, "I'll be his girlfriend."

"Alright, I'll be his girlfriend. But we will talk about marriage later," I said.

"Now that's my daughter-in-law. So when are you going to be free?," Mrs Smith asked.

"Why?," I added. "I'm going to take you out to shopping. I want to give my daughter-in-law some gifts," she replied.

"Ahh. No. It's not required. Actually, William has already bought me some gifts," I said as I tried my best to stop her.

"By the way, what are we going to do today?," I asked as I tried my best to change the topic.

"Ahh. Yes, Yes. Today I'm going to show you around your new chamber. We're also going to make you both comfortable with the gaming systems used here, in this company. If possible we are also going to practice the games," said Mrs Smith.

I was quite eager to see my new chamber and the gaming systems.

Mrs Smith then led us towards our chamber. What do I say? I was quite shocked when we entered the room.

The room was quite big. It had resting place which consisted of a sofa, a table and a LED TV.

The other part of the chamber consisted of the washrooms and at last the gaming area.

The gaming area consisted of two large cylindrical chambers.

"What are these cylindrical chambers," I asked.

"Oh, those chambers are for gaming," Mrs Smith replied.

"Gaming?," I added. "Yes. You both will be focusing on the brand new Virtual Reality Game, League Of Incarnations," she continued.

"What? League Of Incarnations? The brand new VR Game?," I said, "Awesome. By the way how do we play VR games?," I asked.

"Oh, you don't know? Don't worry. I will teach you how to play step by step," William said.

I thanked him. And then Mrs Smith showed us around the chamber and then introduced us to the knew gaming systems.

These gaming are so updated. The system I have at home is so outdated.

I sat down and started looking at the system, confused about what to do.

William came over and helped me to get familiar with the system. He always say beside me and made me comfortable.

Whereas my so-called mother-in-law was sitting at a chair, looking at us and remembering her young days.

After some time of gaming, I could feel William's heavy breath on my hands. What was going on with me?

Why was I feeling strange whenever I got near to him? Why was my heart beating so fast when I felt his heavy breath?
