A LITTLE SECRET

Charles and the unknown visitor made eye contact - cold as it should be - a keen look into each other's eyes as their arms brushed each other. The 180-degree stare ended when they were a few meters away from each other. With their backs against themselves, they took another sneak peek at each other before disappearing out of sight.

Charles held the doorknob, twisted it, and entered Devon's chambers. Devon was calmly resting on the chair. "Why didn't you knock before entering?" It dawned on Charles that he didn't knock before opening the door.

"I'm sorry, alpha." He halted and bowed.

Devon waved his hand. "Why are you here at this odd hour?" He asked, and further his speech. "I know I gave you too much freedom to move around the castle as you like, even to the Hall, but know your limits, Charles."
