Chapter Eighty-Seven

"Have you heard any news about Sam yet?" Mom asked me just as I was about to leave for work.

"No, I still haven't heard anything," I replied.

"Where could that girl be?" Mom asked. By the tone of her voice, I knew she was worried, but as usual, she was trying so hard to hide it - like she always did.

"I don't know mom, but I won't stop looking around for her until I find her. I accused her of having a hand in Roshni's kidnap and she ended up being the same person who helped us in finding Roshni. I need to find and apologize to her," I said, remorsefully. My kid sister! Whenever I thought of her and how our relationship had turned sour, I always feel a pang in the chest. I never imagined a day would come when I would raise a hand on her, but it came to pass. My voice dripped with regret as I spoke, I accused her wrongly. I had to admit, I missed having her around even though she could be a bother sometimes. I missed Sam.
