EVELYN’S POV:

He paused, his gaze piercing mine as though he was waiting for permission to speak. His intensity was palpable, but I said nothing. I just stood there, staring at him, my emotions swirling in a confusing storm of anger, hurt, and vulnerability.

Suddenly, a wave of nausea hit me, and I barely made it to the bathroom in time before throwing up. My stomach churned violently, and tears streamed down my face as my body heaved. Leonard appeared moments later, crouching by my side. He helped me clean up without saying a word, his hands steady and comforting.

“I’ll be fine,” I murmured, my voice hoarse. “Just… excuse me for a moment. I need to take a bath.”

He nodded and left the bathroom, giving me the privacy I needed. The cold water from the shower was both soothing and shocking, washing away some of the emotional turmoil, if only temporarily. I took my time, letting the water cleanse me physically and emotionally.

When I stepped out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel, I noticed that Leonard had neatly arranged my toiletries and laid out a nightgown on the bed, just as he’d done the last time. It was a small gesture, but it made me pause. I slipped into the nightgown, feeling its soft fabric against my skin.

He took my hand without a word and led me downstairs. The tension in the air had softened, but my mind was still clouded with doubts and unanswered questions. I wasn’t sure if I believed him or not, but for now, I followed.

In the kitchen, he handed me a glass of water, which I gratefully drank. “What would you like to eat?” he asked, his voice gentle.

I told him my choice, and he slipped into an apron, moving around the kitchen with practiced ease. It was strangely domestic—almost too normal for the chaos of the night we’d just had. Sometimes I wondered how someone as rich as him could be this perfect, even in the kitchen.

The awkwardness hung between us like a silent third party, but I forced myself to wait patiently. This was his moment to explain, to tell me what exactly was going on between him and Samantha. I wasn’t sure I could trust his words, but I had to hear his side of the tale.

As the aroma of the food filled the kitchen, I realized just how hungry I was. My stomach growled, and I felt a pang of impatience. Leonard, ever meticulous, didn’t take long, though. Soon, he placed a beautifully plated meal in front of me.

The first bite melted in my mouth. Despite the circumstances, his cooking was as exceptional as always. We ate in silence, the tension lingering but muted by the simple act of sharing a meal. When we finished, Leonard cleared the table, and we headed upstairs together.

Back in the bedroom, Leonard took my hands in his, forcing me to look at him. His eyes were serious, filled with an intensity that made it impossible to look away. “A thank you wouldn’t be bad for someone who just saved your life,” he said, his tone lighter than I expected.

I didn’t respond, my expression guarded.

He sighed and began again. “Evelyn, listen to me. I have absolutely nothing to do with Samantha anymore. She’s in my past, and I need you to understand that I’ve never faked anything with you. Everything I’ve done, everything I feel for you—it’s real. I’m being as honest as I can be.”

He paused, searching my face for any sign of belief. I stood still, my emotions warring inside me.

“My heart hasn’t found peace since yesterday,” he continued, his voice breaking slightly. “I couldn’t stay focused, couldn’t get you off my mind. Evelyn, I need you to believe me. What I feel for you isn’t just some fleeting entanglement. It’s real. Samantha is from three years ago, and she’s not part of my life anymore.”

His words hung in the air, and I felt a knot in my chest begin to loosen. Slowly, I stepped closer to him, and before I could stop myself, I kissed him. He hesitated for a moment but then kissed me back, his arms pulling me closer. The kiss was passionate, a mixture of longing and relief.

He pulled back after a while, his breathing uneven. “Do you believe me Evelyn?” he asked, his eyes searching mine.

I nodded. “I do,” I whispered. And I meant it.

For reasons I couldn’t fully explain, I trusted him. Maybe it was the sincerity in his voice or the way he looked at me. Leonard was my peace—a calm in the storm of my life. I might not have had much experience with love, but I knew enough to recognize that his feelings were genuine.

He kissed my hands, then my forehead, and finally my lips. “I’ve missed you so much, Evelyn,” he said softly.

The rest of the night passed in quiet conversation. We talked about the pictures on the internet and, inevitably, about Samantha. He told me how their relationship had ended three years ago after he caught her cheating. He’d seen suspicious messages on her phone, and one day, he’d walked in on her with someone else.

“She showed up at the restaurant yesterday out of nowhere,” he explained. “I was as surprised as you were. I thought she’d moved on by now, especially with her family’s status. She has options—plenty of them.”

He told me that she’d even hidden the fact that she had a child during their relationship. As he spoke, I listened intently, not judging her but feeling relieved that my suspicions had been addressed.

The night ended on a lighter note, and I fell asleep on his chest.

When I woke up the next morning, sunlight streamed through the curtains. I had a splitting headache—a hangover from the night before. I turned to see Leonard still sleeping peacefully beside me, one arm draped over my body. Carefully, I slipped out from under his arm and got out of bed.

Downstairs, I poured myself a glass of water and took a painkiller to ease the throbbing in my head. As I stood by the kitchen counter, I heard a gentle knock at the door. It was cleaner. I let her in and went back to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

I whipped up some omelets and a fresh salad, arranging everything neatly on a tray before heading back upstairs. When I entered the bedroom, Leonard wasn’t on the bed. I set the tray on the bed stand and was about to sit down when I felt his arms wrap around my waist from behind.

“Good morning, princess,” he whispered, his voice warm and gentle.

A smile spread across my face as I turned to face him. His eyes were soft, filled with a warmth that made my heart flutter. He kissed my forehead, a tender gesture that sent a wave of calm through me.

“Good morning,” I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.

“Thank you for yesterday.” I added .

EVELYN'S POV:Like the morning sun breaking through the horizon, his voice illuminated my day. He complimented me with a warmth that sent a blush creeping across my face. Though I tried to hide it, it was impossible. Leonard had a way of seeing right through me. “You look cute that way.” He said as he noticed the blush, and tucked me.I laughed as I reacted to it.“Sit,” I said, motioning toward the bed. I brought the breakfast tray up and placed it between us. We ate together, but the meal was brief; the clock reminded us both of the looming workday ahead.Once we finished, I gathered the dishes and headed to the kitchen. When I returned to the room, Leonard was already waiting for a bath. We stepped into the bathroom together, savoring a quiet, intimate moment before the rush of the day overtook us.Afterwards, we dressed and got ready to leave. My phone buzzed just as I reached for my bag. It was my secretary. She reminded me not to forget the files I had taken home to work on. “

EVELYN'S POV:When I arrived at his place, he was sitting on the balcony, his shoulders slumped, staring out at the horizon. It wasn’t like him. I made my way inside and climbed the stairs, feeling a heaviness in the air. Something wasn’t right. And feared for the worst, but still couldn't say what could be wrong.“Hey, Dad,” I greeted as I stepped onto the balcony, forcing a smile. He turned to look at me, but his response was muted, his tone flat. My heart skipped a beat.As I walked closer, I noticed the small picture of my mom clutched in his hand. His eyes glistened with unshed tears, and it broke my heart to see him like this. “Hey, Dad,” I said softly, kneeling beside him. “I know you miss Mom. I miss her too, more than words can say. But you’ve got to take it easy on yourself. This—this won’t help you, Dad. You know Mom would want you to be happy. She’d want you to find joy, even in her absence. You still have me. EVELYN'S POV:Just when I thought I was finally catching a break from all the chaos, my heart pounded uncontrollably as I deciphered who had sent the message. I cursed under my breath in frustration. I hadn’t even finished dealing with Caleb and Dana, and now this? "Get ready for the battle you just began!" the text read.I stared at the screen in disbelief. Why was everything happening now? Hadn’t I already been through enough? Yet, as much as I wanted to break down, I knew I couldn’t afford to. Leonard had warned me before: staying strong was my only option. And I will abide by just that.Sliding my phone into my pocket, I headed to my room to gather my thoughts. I tried to act normal—at least on the surface—but my body betrayed me. My father noticed immediately that something was off when I got back. His concerned gaze lingered as I handed him the documents he had requested earlier.“Are you okay?” he asked, his voice tinged with hesitation.I nodded quickly. “Yeah, I’m fine.” I re

EVELYN'S POV“Leonard?” My voice cracked as I tried to speak. I needed him to tell me this wasn’t real, that what I’d just read was some twisted joke. But his reaction said it all. He slowly put the phone down, his fists trembling at his sides. His eyes locked on mine, a storm brewing within them.“We need to leave. Now.” His voice was steady but laced with urgency.“Leave? What—what do you mean?” My legs felt like they might give out beneath me.Leonard stood abruptly, pacing the room. “Whoever this is, they’ve made it personal. I don’t trust that staying here will keep you safe. And if they know where you are…” His voice trailed off, the unspoken implications clear.“But my family—”“They’ll be safe,” he interrupted. “I’ll make sure of it. But right now, we need to focus on you.”I wanted to argue, to tell him I wasn’t leaving my father and everything I’d worked so hard to protect. But deep down, I knew he was right. EVELYN’S POV:It took me moments—more like hours—before I could breathe again. Leonard held me close in a soothing manner, but it wasn’t enough. It felt like the end—not just my end, but my father’s legacy. His name, his company, everything he had worked for. The notification wasn’t from the same number that had texted earlier. It was an update from the internet: my father, Mr. Wyatt, and his company were being dragged through the mud. As if that wasn’t enough, rumors of a court case were beginning to circulate.I wailed louder now, and Leonard did all he could to calm me down. But I knew this was no accident—it was a calculated setup. My father wasn’t capable of what they were accusing him of. He didn’t have to tell me; I knew. He was being framed, and Gregory Dana—the so-called victim—was an obvious part of the facade.Leonard remained silent, his pained eyes mirroring my torment. But I was too shattered to focus on him. A knock on the door startled us.“I’ll get it,” Leonard said

EVELYN'S POV:The security guards were having a heated argument at the gate. From where we stood, we couldn’t see who they were arguing with. Curious, Leonard and I walked up to them.As we approached, I was startled to see Aaron. He looked tattered, almost homeless. A surge of pity rose in me as I took in his disheveled appearance. I instructed the guards to let him in, despite the clear disapproval in Leonard’s eyes. His gaze darkened the moment I spoke, but I couldn’t turn Aaron away.As soon as the guards allowed him in, I tried to speak with him. But before Aaron could finish a single sentence, he collapsed to the ground. Without wasting a moment, Leonard and I rushed him to the hospital. At the hospital, we sat in tense silence, waiting for news of his condition. My mind raced with questions. What had happened to him? Was Caleb or Dana involved?“Doctor, how is he?” I asked urgently as the doctor approached.“He’s still unconscious, but we’re doing everything we can,” the doctor

EVELYN’S POVIt felt strange, but after Leonard’s bath, I couldn’t resist him anymore. I wanted him so badly, but he either didn’t realize it or didn’t want to act on it. Tired of waiting, I walked over to where he stood and hugged him from behind. He turned to face me, holding my hands. Without hesitation, I kissed him, and when he responded, I deepened the kiss. Passion quickly overtook us. Breaking the kiss, I knelt before him and took his hard cock in my hand, caressing it softly before sliding it into my mouth. The sensation sent shivers down my spine, and I found myself hastening, lost in the moment.“Eve, I want you forever,” Leonard murmured, gripping my hair tightly. It should have hurt, but it didn’t.“Don’t stop, Eve,” he whispered again.I followed his body language, adjusting to his rhythm. “Eve, you have to stop,” he pleaded. “I can feel it coming. I resolved to find Caleb and Dana, no matter what it took. When I reached the hospital and entered Aaron’s room, the caregiver greeted me with a solemn expression. Her silence spoke volumes. EVELYN'S POV:I couldn’t tell how I was doing, but I decided to put everything about Leonard behind me. Since I left home, I hadn’t thought about him, and it felt like progress.During lunch, I went down to the cafeteria and had something light. Afterward, I read a book before returning to the office. Having been away for a while, I had quite a few files to sort through, but I was grateful for the virtual work I had completed back at home.I scheduled a screening and interview session for the applicants first thing tomorrow morning. I wanted it done quickly so work could return to normal. I also realized I needed to pick up the pace on some pending projects.I thought about the classes I was supposed to start with my dad. Things hadn’t been alright lately, and we hadn’t been able to begin.Opening my computer, I browsed through some books I’d subscribed to and even signed up for a few courses.A knock on the door interrupted me, and my secretary stepped into the office.“It’s almost t

EVELYN’S POV:We went to the living room to watch a TV show together, my dad and I, but I wasn’t concentrating. Without Leonard, I felt incomplete. I’d grown so fond of him in the past few days, and now I felt a bit sick knowing he wasn’t near me. I felt feverish and I requested a cup of coffee, which Leonard's mom instructed one of the cooks to make for me.Deciding to use the time for work, I excused myself from the living room.“Do you need some help?” Leonard's mother asked as I stepped onto the staircase, her eyes drifting to my injured leg. Her voice was filled with worry.“I’m alright,” I managed to smile at her. This woman is the sweetest person I know right now, she doesn't let any detail slip away, she cares so much.I smiled remembering my first ordeal with her.“Let me know if you need anything,” she said again. I nodded and left.Once in my room, I grabbed my laptop and got to work, keeping my secretary on a call the whole time as we exchanged files. It took me at least

I trailed my fingers through it, licking it off while maintaining eye contact.Leonard stood from the bed and carefully laid me down, avoiding any contact with my injured leg. He gently removed my pants, his soft touches sending shivers through my body. Then, he buried his head between my thighs. His tongue explored and savored every inch of me, drawing out uncontrollable moans that echoed around the room.I clung to his hair, pushing him deeper as the sensations coursed through me like waves of electricity. EVELYN'S POV The company had been released from hold, and I was now receiving messages from both new and old partners, eager to collaborate with my company. It was clear these developments were all due to Leonard's influence—who else could it have been? I hugged him tightly and thanked him, my heart brimming with gratitude. As I reflected on everything, my thoughts turned to my father. Almost immediately, a doctor appeared, setting his focus on my injured leg as Leonard gently placed me on the bed.The doctor began to examine my injury. As he explained its severity to Leonard, I could see the unrelenting seriousness etched on his face. His expression was dark and unreadable, but I could sense his frustration.I, however, wasn’t ready to deal with his anger or frustration. I only wanted to go home, to speak with my father and clear my head of the turmoil that was growing with each passing moment. The doctor administered pain relief and carefully wrapped my leg in bandages. If Leonard and his mum were fighting because of me, I would never forgive myself. It was obvious I wasn’t welcome here, and the logical thing to do was to leave before Leonard came back.Summoning all the courage I could muster, I stood up and scanned the space for a way out. The security around the house was tight, but I intended to try my best.
