EVELYN'S POV:

I loved how much Leonard was committed to taking care of me. Everything felt so perfect, despite the chaos surrounding us. I just wished it could have been all of us together. After the spa, we went back to Leonard's house and picked up a few necessary items before heading out.

As soon as we pulled into the driveway of my house, my dad was walking toward us with the kids.

“Mommy! Daddy!” they called out happily in unison.

“Sweethearts!” I exclaimed as I took them both into my arms and hugged them tightly. The thought that they were once orphans sent tears streaming down my cheeks, but I wiped them away discreetly and focused on their joy. I played with them briefly before we all went inside.

The cooks had prepared lunch, and we enjoyed a wonderful meal together.

“Clara is her name, the nanny,” my father said, introducing her to us.

“Oh, that’s fine. We trust your choice,” Leonard said with a warm smile, thanking him again for his support.

After lunch, the children drifted off to sleep, and Clara carefully put them to bed.

That gave us time to sit with my father and discuss everything regarding the adoption of the children. During the conversation, I suddenly blurted out, “I’m moving in with Leonard.”

Leonard’s eyes flickered with surprise, while my father’s expression hinted at disapproval.

“Dad, this is the first time I’m asking for something this serious. I’ll be happy if you support me,” I pleaded.

“Evelyn, how am I supposed to live here without you?” His voice was heavy with sadness.

“But Dad, I’ll visit as often as I can. Nothing will stop me. You won’t even feel like I’m gone,” I reassured him.

After a long pause, he sighed and nodded. “Considering your situation, I think you need Leonard now more than ever. You should go. Just don’t let me miss you too much. And bring the kids around often—I’ll always love to see them.”

“Of course, Dad,” I said with a grateful smile.

Leonard thanked him again and announced that we’d visit his mom the next day to update her on everything that had happened. Then we excused ourselves and headed to my room. On the way, we checked on the kids. They were peacefully asleep, their little faces serene. I kissed both of them gently on their foreheads before leaving.

As we entered my room, I turned to Leonard. “I still love them as much as I did when I thought they were yours.”

He nodded, his expression tender. “Just like I felt when I thought they were mine. That feeling hasn’t changed. They’re innocent, and I’ll always care for them.”

“How’s Leonard Jr. doing?” he asked, his hand instinctively resting on my growing belly.

I giggled. “Just as fine as you.”

He smiled and leaned in to kiss me gently. His hand lingered on my stomach, and the kiss deepened, becoming more passionate. Soon, we were lost in each other.

Leonard’s lips traveled to my neck, his touch igniting a fire within me. He pinned me softly against the wall, his hands exploring my body with a mix of tenderness and urgency. My breath hitched as I melted into his touch, my body responding to him completely.

I gasped, pushing him gently before leading him to the bed.

I lay back, watching as he slid out of his trousers, his eyes filled with desire. He climbed onto the bed, his lips never leaving my skin, trailing kisses down my body. Every touch was deliberate, every kiss sending shivers through me until I was trembling with need.

When he finally entered me, the sensation was overwhelming. My body arched toward him instinctively, and I clung to him, breathless. His movements were slow at first, deliberate and intimate.

“Leonard,” I moaned, my voice filled with longing.

He whispered my name, his pace quickening as we moved in perfect sync. The tension built between us, each thrust driving us closer to the edge. My entire body tightened, and I gasped as waves of ecstasy crashed over me.

“Fuck,” I cried out, my release washing over me.

At that moment, Leonard found his own release, his body trembling as he filled me completely. He collapsed beside me, pulling me into his arms, his breath warm against my ear.

“I love you so much, Evelyn,” he murmured, squeezing my hand gently.

“I love you too,” I whispered back, my heart full.

But our moment was cut short by the sound of the twins crying outside. Clara’s hurried footsteps followed as she rushed to comfort them. Leonard and I exchanged amused looks before bursting into laughter.

We quickly freshened up in the bathroom and went to check on the kids. As soon as they saw us, they stopped crying. Leonard picked up River while Ryan ran to me.

“I want to see Mommy,” Ryan said softly, his big eyes glistening with unshed tears.

My heart broke at his words, and I struggled to find the right thing to say. River shifted her gaze to me and echoed, “Me too.”

Tears streamed down my face as Leonard knelt beside them. “Listen, Mommy is working a lot now and can’t be with you, but this Mommy,” he said, pointing to me, “will always take care of you.”

“Mommy won't come back?” Ryan asked.

“ Of course, but not soon. Now, who wants ice cream?” he asked, hoping to distract them.

“I want ice cream!” they chimed in unison, their smiles returning.

We quickly got ready for our little ice cream outing. Leonard, as usual, chose a five-star spot. Despite the media trying to approach us, we ignored them, focusing on our little family and cherishing the moment together.

We spent quiet much time there, from ice cream we took the children to play at the kids spot.

Andwhen the time to go home came.

It was already late evening, Clara had also came with us.

Before leaving, we got some chocolate and we drove back home.

I reached for his hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. “It’s okay,” I told him softly.Leonard nodded in reluctant agreement, and we resumed eating. The children were playing among them
