Chapter 5

~JAYCE RYLEE ALASTER POV~

I've been messaging her to come and attend work but she's not responding.

I badly needed that document to be signed so that the finance department will handle the rest. I emailed her multiple times, still not responding. Usually, she replies instantly. Not unless she has something that's been keeping her busy.

I called her for the nth time. I was getting frustrated. I sighed as soon as she answered but my eyes narrowed as I heard a voice of a man.

"Hello who is this?" He asks in a low tone.

"This is Euphrasia Vyxanna's boss. May I speak to her?" I ask in an authorative tone.

I was about to explode when he disagreed but was then replaced with an angelic voice. It seems to be snatched because the voice was familiar.

"Hello Mr.JR, I'm sorry for not answering. That was just my boyfriend. Is there anything I can do for you?" She asks me.

'So she has a boyfriend..'

I cleared my throat before answering her.

"Yes. I would like to ask if you signed the document that my secretary handed over to you yesterday" I answered, looking down at the portrait she gave me last christmas.

"I'm sorry but I would like to inform you sir that I still haven't. Would you like me to sign it now and deliver it to your office?" She asks me again.

'I would like you.... I want to admit but.. nevermind.'

"Yes please. Delivery it to me as soon as possible." I answered before hanging up.

I picked up the picture frame which showed our stolen picture. Sitting next to each other as we talk.

That was the day I confessed but... She declined my feelings for her. I remember, how she sobbed and declined. She said she doesn't want to be in another relationship so I just let it go. I let her dump my feelings.

In the past, she used to call me Mr. Grumpy because I'm always not in the mood. But when she started hanging around my office every lunch time, It changed me. It melted my cold heart. And she made me feel love again but I was rejected. She always, always make me feel better. Always by my side. She loves to talk and eat. And laugh even though the jokes were not funny.

One time I was sick, I was in my private room of my office when I notified her to bring me some porridge.

She quickly aided me and never left my side. She stayed there for almost five days just to take care of me.

And... That was also the day I felt her lips. Those were too soft to touch and to feel. I didn't have a choice back then because she was crying while just looking at my state.

I didn't have an option so I just kissed her instead to make her stop. And it did...

I was back into reality when someone knocked at the door.

I sat up straight and kept a stern look. I placed the frame back to where it belongs before I notified them to come in.

"Enter" I plainly said as I stood up.

My heart beated rapidly when I saw her angelic face. She had a stern look and was just wearing denim jeans and white sleeves. I noticed she had the folder in hand.

"Hello Mr. Grumpy " She greeted me before she giggled.

I chuckled as I slightly shook my head. "Very funny my angel." I answer back before gesturing the chair in front of my desk.

She walked up to me and gave me a kiss on the cheek before sitting down.

I sat on my squivel chair as I look at her.

I looked at the folder she handed. "Here is the document that you wanted to be signed sir." she stated as she smiles.

I don't know if I was the only one to see that beautiful smile. But I always remind myself that I'm lucky to see it.

I took the folder and placed it on my desk before looking at her.

I heaved a sigh. "Did you read the letter that I gave you yesterday?" I ask her as I leaned forward.

She slightly shook her head. " I still haven't sir. But thanks for reminding me. I will definitely read it." she answers me and gave me a small smile.

I nodded. I kept composing myself as my heart started to jump in excitement. Butterflies roaming around my stomach. I reached for her face and caressed her cheek.

Her skin was so soft. It just makes me want to hold her and embrace her if I had given a chance.

"I must go now sir. Is there anything you want me to do something else before I go?" She asks me again as she looks at me calmly.

I removed my hand from her cheek and mumbled. "I.. I want you to kiss me Frasia.." As I look at her confused expression.

She didn't move and gulped something down her throat. I can't contain myself and reached for her lips. I felt her respond to the kiss which made my heart jump even more. It was a matter of minutes before I parted.

Her face was flushed and was shocked at my sudden move. Her mouth slightly opened.

I sat back down and looked at her.

"I'm sorry 'bout that... I just can't stop myself.." I stated loud enough for her to only hear.

"It's... It's okay.. It's not like this is the first time sir..." she answers back before biting her lower lip.

"Yeah.. You... you may leave now my angel. Thank you for the document." I stated before standing up.

She stood up and kissed my cheek before leaving my office. She looked back to me one last time before leaving the office. I went inside my private room when she closed the door behind her. I flopped my body down the bed and touched my lips. Reminiscing the kiss we shared a moment ago...
