Alpha Lucas POV

I couldn’t believe how fearless some people are and could try to attack me. While I am here blaming myself for sending Emma away, seeking her, and wanting her forgiveness, her people decided to wage war against me by sending bandits. I was seething, but I also had a second thought about whether Emma was involved or not.

I was still in the pack clinic, and the physician said I would be moved over to my chambers tomorrow. I was almost dozing off when I suddenly heard a knock on the door.

"Come in," I grumbled, and a guard came inside the room. He bowed his head before moving closer to me.

"Alpha"he called

"Speak!" I ordered, and he knelt before me.

"My lord, we have traced where the slave Emma could be currently," he said, and I sat up quickly, piquing my interest.

"Where could that be?" I asked impatiently.

"She was traced to have gone back to her pack," he replied, and I fisted my hands angrily.

"You can leave," I said, and he stood up, leaving the room for me.

It was
