34. Let's Hunt

Destiny

The weight of my conversation with Aria still hung heavily on my heart as I paced the room.

I didn't tell Aria that I went back on my word and let Alpha Aldric have his way with me. I couldn't tell her, knowing how disappointed she would be at me.

My hand found its way to my chest as if trying to physically hold my heart together. Had I really just agreed to betray Alpha Aldric? The very man my heart was now undeniably drawn to? What had I gotten myself into?

"Miss Destiny?" Delora's soft voice broke through my inner turmoil. She stood holding a beautiful dress. "I have something for you," she said, smiling brightly.

My eyes lit up. "What is this?"

"Your dress for the Starlight Ball. Alpha Aldric sent someone to pick this out for you. Isn't it lovely?" Delora asked.

"It's beautiful!" I gushed. This dress wasn't like the ones he had picked out for me in the past. It was beautiful, and elegant and I already knew I'd look very sophisticated wearing it.
