CHAPTER 69: Smell

“Where have you been?”

My head snapped to the corner of my room.

All the lights were turned off, and it was already late. Even the Omegas in the house were no longer around the living area.

I thought I was alone.

But behind the shadows casted off from the moonlight through the window, my mate’s tall figure showed.

“Titus,” I mumbled, seeing him sat on the chair in front of my bed.

It’s been hours since the sun had gone down, and it’s been hours since I left the dungeon. But Samuel’s screams and words were still running around my mind, unable to suppress it.

I needed to go somewhere else to release whatever ill feelings I got there.

“I was just in the clinic,” I answered and sighed.

Titus moved from his seat and stood in front of me. I sat on the bed and inhaled deeply.

He leaned slightly and slowly took my arm that had bandages around.

“You had blood taken?” His dark eyes lingered on the bandages, as if he could see through it.

I nodded. “Yeah. Ben told me I could help if I let him
