"Just sign the papers West and let's get this done and over with" Emotionless and cruel, Shawn's words rolled out of his tongue as he stared at West.

West staggered a bit backward as she stared incredulously at the man she loved, a man who promised her heaven on earth...

What changed??

Her thoughts were blank as her eyes fell on the paper on the table, the words inscribed on it glared hard at her as her blurry eyes saw the bold letters on the top of the paper.

Divorce!

"Shawn..." West's voice betrayed her as it trailed off, her eyes met his cold ones, no ounce of remorse on his face as he stared at her like he was staring at a bag filled with trash.

West shook her head as the realization dawned on her "Shawn it's been barely two hours since we got married in front of our respective families..." Her tears choked her up as her eyes wandered off to the people behind Shawn.

Shawn snorted before he fixed his tie, this only proved that they were still in the wedding venue, West held her gown as she ran to meet her father who was standing there with her stepmom and step-sister.

Her hair was disheveled, her makeup smeared on her face due to the intrusion of liquid...her tears ruined the whole makeup as she ran to meet the man who 'cares' about her.

Her pleading eyes met her father's serene ones "Dad, please tell Shawn to stop this joke, we just said our 'I do' a few minutes ago, we just wedded..Dad, please tell him to stop this prank he's pulling"

"He is not pulling a prank West..." That cold statement from her father made her stiffen all over as her face grew deadly pale.

Her lips quivered, it seemed she was the only one not understanding a thing, she gazed at the people, Shawn's dad who showed her kindness, his grandma who loved her, her stepmom who had dolled her up and her step-sister...they were all smiling at her few minutes before the wedding.

How come they all had stoic faces while she was facing rejection from her 'just married' husband??

"Dad what do you mean by that?? I—"

"That's enough West, don't you get it??" Her aged father snapped at her with his veins popping up on his neck as he glared hard at her.

"G-Get what??" Her weak tone asked as she begged for knowledge, she couldn't quite comprehend all that was going on.

Shawn replied rather "I don't love you West East, there was never a time where I loved you...this whole wedding, this whole wedding was just a lie"

Just as his words fell, West slowly and numbly turned around to face him, backing her father as she turned to face the man who had slid the ring into her fingers in the presence of the priest a few minutes ago.

Her veil was lying helplessly on the floor.

"A lie you call it?? My love for you was never a lie Shawn Gabs!! I loved you and I wanted to be with you!" She shouted at the end, hot tears pouring down her eyes as they wet her cheeks.

Shawn didn't feel any bad about his words as he said spitefully "That's because you are naive to the fact that I never loved you West, this was all your father's idea if you must know...I only love her.." he angrily pointed at the figure behind West.

West whose head was already flooded by too much information turned to look at who he had pointed at.

As if poured cold water, West had a ghastly expression when her eyes landed on her step-sister, Erica who smiled and walked towards Shawn.

The fragile and slim-looking West felt aggrieved as she watched Shawn hug Erica so affectionately.

At this point, she didn't know who to turn to, who to question, who to believe, and who not to.

"Why??" Her weak voice could only muster up the courage to ask this question, her lonely figure went from her husband to her sister in his arms, to her father and Shawn's family.

Asking again, she shouted "Why??!! What did I ever do to deserve all these treatments??"

"I and Shawn have been dating for four years ago before he started going out with you two years ago, it was all part of Father's plan, be lucky I let you have my man for a little while" Erica snorted as she rubbed her head on Shawn's chest, Shawn who was still dressed in a torso and suite like her groom, he rubbed Erica's back.

Turning to her father, it seems he was the one who held answers to her questions, she so wanted to know the reasons why he had introduced her to Shawn in the first place, accepted their union and even planned their wedding with them, just after signing the wedding certificate and saying their wedding vows, her father allowed Shawn to bring out a divorce paper to her in front of her family and Shawn's family.

It was as if, Shawn planned to give her the divorce papers that very day!

"Father...why do this to me?? Haven't I been an obedient daughter?? Why replace me with my sister??" West cried out, her fragile body trembling as she clenched on her wedding dress, she could feel the pathetic gazes she was getting from the people who only consisted of her family and Shawn's family.

Her father didn't hold back as he poured venom on her already heated sour "Simple..I came up with this idea to get what rightfully belongs to me that you stole!"

Confusion smeared on West's face as she mused "I stole something from you??"

Her father's eyes turn red in anger "Your grandmother, my mother just had to will all of the East's properties to you before she passed on! And I want it back, you can't have everything I worked so hard for, so I connived with my friend who allowed his son to date you and when he weds you, after the divorce, he will take everything from you and I can get back what is mine!"

West who wasn't aware of the properties she had was left stunned as her lips shook, grieve passing through her veins, she turned to the man she had once cherished,her heart tighten before she shouted "Fine, I accept the divorce! But Just be prepared for my comeback!"
