Third Person's PoV

There was a faint smile on her face as she watched the argument between her two friends, the ones she had last seen a year ago. Her attention was then caught by someone's presence beside her, which caused her smile to widen, turning from a simple curve to something more genuine. Lei, who was sitting beside her stepbrother, Pierce, on the sofa, was still engaged in an argument with him.

"Tsk, tsk, Pierce. You're so slow," Lei whispered to her stepbrother, Pierce, while stealing a glance at the man Exelle was talking to.

If you think about it, Lei couldn't really say anything against that man. Aside from being handsome and having a well-built physique, it was undeniable that he had a certain magnetic aura about him. He was someone filled with a dark presence, but for some reason, that aura could also draw anyone in, as if they were naturally pulled toward him by an invisible force. Thinking about it, Lei couldn't help but form a lopsided smile before giving her brothe

Brimming with his usual intimidating aura, Dark strode along to follow Exelle and Hans. They passed through the open living area where Dark and Exelle had spent time together before Hans’ unexpected arrival.Unlike before, when the place was dimly lit, with light sneaking through the slightly opened veranda doors, now the space was illuminated by the bright lights from a large chandelier hanging from the ceiling, near the staircase leading to the upper floors. "The moment of truth has come, when fears were set aside, just like when we choose to fight against them instead. The truth is, I’ve come a long way just to reach this peak that we’ve talked about, and to call it success. This building has been here to witness the ups and downs of my life since I came back to this place, from the grains of sand and un-mixed cement that hadn't yet formed the solid foundation we now call walls and floors, into this majestic tower that now battles the heights to reach the sky," I paused, pressing my lips into a thin smile before letting out a soft laugh. That small laugh echoed through the hall, amplified by the speaker connected to the mic I was holding. The unique sound of my laughter traveled across the space.I noticed ripples forming on the surface of the white wine in my glass. It was like a disturbance in the silence, but it was calm, almost inviting. It moved in sync with the subtle movements of my body, and then stopped momentarily, matching the

  • EX Wife (ENGLISH)   Prologue

Exelle/XiellennaMy skin, once radiant, now bears the haunting marks of my suffering—bruises marring its pale surface. I stand before the mirror, a sorrowful weight pressing upon my heart. As I gaze at my reflection, the red and swollen eyes that stare back at me mirror the anguish within. My lips, wounded and adorned with dried blood in the corners, remain tightly pursed, withholding the words that long to be spoken.Regret weighs heavily upon me as I trace the bruises with trembling fingers, each touch met with a sharp sting that resonates through my battered body. I cannot deny the truth any longer. I should have known better, anticipated the worsening of my situation. What began as being a mere punching bag for my husband, Hans, has escalated to a perilous point where my life hangs in the balance. And yet, even as he inflicts pain upon me, my body finds ways to numb itself, a self-preservation mechanism that shields me from the full extent of my suffering. To Hans, I am nothing mo

Exelle"Hey, it's not that difficult to say, 'thank you, my dear friend.' Can't you see how grateful you should be to have me here, helping you out?" I playfully teased Samara, who was on the other end of the phone call, requesting that I design a dress for her.I carefully added the final touch to her dress, drawing a large ribbon at the waistline, just as she had described. "Hey, Sam. My business revolves around constructing infrastructures and such, not designing dresses. Seriously? Asking me to create a dress for you? Oh well, here you go. I'll email you the pictures later since I'll be occupied with a board meeting," I spoke to her as if we were face-to-face. I could almost picture her smiling mischievously and letting out an eerie giggle.I often wondered how I ended up with a friend like her. She seemed eccentric and wild when she was around her family and me, but she appeared composed and proper in front of others. At times like this, I couldn't help but wonder if she was just

In the past three months, we successfully opened a new branch of EXiellene Royale on Jeju Island, South Korea, which has received a highly positive response from the people. Our top priority has always been to satisfy the needs and provide exceptional service to the tourists, customers, and visitors of EXiellene Royale. And we have accomplished just that by taking the risk of expanding from America to Asia. Standing before the others, I presented a graph showcasing the continuous increase in ratings of EX Royale in Jeju over the last three months. Their smiles widened as they witnessed the positive results of the risk we took the previous year."Congratulations, everyone! I've always believed that taking risks is not a bad thing at all. Therefore, our next plan is to build a new hotel and resort in the Philippines."They eagerly opened the folders that Audrey had distributed to them. "As you can see, and as we all know, the Philippines is renowned for its attractions that attract bot

Exelle"Hey," Jules greeted me with a warm smile as soon as her eyes met mine upon entering the grand entrance of the hall. Jules has been my friend since our high school days, and her creative talent as an interior designer always left me in awe.We shared a history, just like Sam, and she knew about the profound struggles I had faced in the past. Time seemed to have stood still for Jules; he still possessed that porcelain rosy skin and a perfectly slim physique, resembling a true deity. It was undeniable that he had inherited his mother's striking features, Aunt Juliean."Aunt Juliean! Oh my God, auntie. I missed you," I exclaimed playfully, embracing her tightly. She responded with a playful scowl, pinching my arm gently, causing me to retreat a step while laughter escaped my lips."What? Are you happy? Are you truly that happy, huh?" she teased, pinching me again. "I may resemble Mama, but I am even more beautiful. Care to laugh some more?""You're utterly crazy," I chuckled, play

Exelle"This is it," Jules proclaimed, her voice filled with a mix of excitement and determination. She summarized our detailed discussion about the renovation plans for the house, emphasizing our decision to transform it into an enchanting old Victorian style. It was as if she had captured my innermost desires and breathed life into them. This house, nestled in the serene countryside, would soon become a reflection of my personal taste and a testament to my love for the classic elegance of the past. But are you sure you want to go back to that house?" Milo suddenly asked. As Jules spoke, Milo's question interrupted the air, injecting a touch of uncertainty into the room. His curiosity was palpable, and I sensed a hidden concern beneath his words. Jules subtly nudged him, a silent indication to tread carefully.Caught off guard, I struggled to find the right words. Memories of the past surged within me, threatening to break the surface, but I was determined to keep them at bay. The ho

Third Person's Point of View"It's still the same?"A question was heard from Dark as he stood in front of a bookshelf, pulling out a file folder and opening it. He did not glance at his cousin, who was sitting seriously on the sofa in the receiving room. That room was part of Audrey's office, and the only way into it was through the door of her office."I... think so."In the way the man spoke, one could notice a slight hesitation. It was as if he was unsure whether his words would be the right ones to say. Only then did the young woman glance at him, her eyes noting the expression on her cousin Dark's face."You haven't met her since you came back here, have you?" Audrey asked again with a raised eyebrow. When she didn’t hear a reply from her cousin, she merely shook her head.Audrey sighed before placing the file folder back on the shelf.Dark, with his head lowered, waited silently in his seat, and after a moment, he looked up at the ceiling, suddenly lost in thought. His mind was

  • EX Wife (ENGLISH)   FORTY THREE

Third Person's POVExelle remained silent as she watched Dark's unreadable face under the fluorescent light. Her gentle expression returned, unlike the unusual look she had earlier while watching Alexis. Her lifeless eyes, seemingly exhausted, dropped their gaze back to Dark, as if nothing had changed upon seeing Alexis again and knowing that Rylie might already be dead.It was as if her gaze told him she wasn’t bothered by Alexis’s miserable state or Rylie’s death.Exelle simply stared back at Dark, who was still holding her hand. She didn’t know what to say, unable to decipher what he was trying to convey. His head was bowed, and his trembling hand, still holding hers, seemed afraid to let go. Since she couldn’t fathom what was going on in his mind, she stayed quiet, waiting for his next move.“I feel like I’ll lose her once I let her hand go…”Those were the heavy words echoing in Dark’s head.At this moment, the two figures—a man and a woman—stood motionless in the quiet, wide hal

  • EX Wife (ENGLISH)   FORTY TWO

Third Person's POVThe inside of some rooms along the long, white corridor was noisy. Some people were laughing while talking to themselves, and others were screaming loudly for reasons unknown. The strange voices, which alternated between happy and agonized, felt oddly misplaced in the building's naturally gloomy atmosphere. In the middle of the hallway, a woman walked with confidence. She wore a creamy-colored turtleneck sweater that hugged her chest, arms, and entire upper body. The outfit was paired with a black pencil skirt that extended past her knees, featuring a long slit on the left side, revealing her snow-white, smooth skin beneath the fabric. Her heels produced a ticking sound each time they struck the cemented floor.Behind her followed a man with a serious expression etched on his handsome face. He silently stared at the woman in front of him, his gaze fixed on the movements of her shoulders, covered by a black blazer. Though his face was firm and stoic, anyone who saw h

Third Person's POV"Antonio, try to move it here and then to that side over there," the tall and voluptuous woman in her late thirties said to the man holding a box with both of his hands, standing in front of the open door. She pointed to the place where the two boxes the man was holding should be placed with her index finger, which he immediately followed.Behind her, the man was simply leaning his back against the hallway wall, facing the door to the room where the woman had earlier given instructions to the man. Dark silently watched the woman's expressionless face as she did her work, keeping his arms crossed over his broad chest. The storage room where the woman was working was brightly lit with fluorescent light, contrasting against its walls painted in ash and concrete colors. The room was filled with boxes containing unused items, which is why the temperature inside was moderate enough to preserve the items hidden within. Some parts of the room were dusty, making Exelle raise

  • EX Wife (ENGLISH)   FORTY

Third Person's POVThe young man sitting next to Exelle furrowed his brow as he remembered that her wounds were still not fully healed. He almost forgot about it because the young woman was rushed to the hospital a few days after she woke up due to an infection in the wound on her shoulder caused by the gunshot wound to her body. There were no large hospitals on the island, and the journey would take half a day due to the distance from the island to a district hospital in Lubang. Because of this, he didn’t take her there when he first found her. The chances of her survival would have been shortened if he had her travel from Cabra to Lubang, which would have taken almost half a day by water, and the journey time would have increased further because he would have had to travel from the port of Lubang to the district hospital. The wound was not noticeable either because it was covered by the fabric of her clothing. Even the supposed stain of blood on her clothes wasn’t visible, as it mig
