I found myself staring at Hans, who stood tall in the center of the room we occupied. Words failed to escape my lips, causing his smile to linger. His gaze bore into me, intensifying my nervousness and evoking a sense of fear. Silently, I locked eyes with him, while Sam did the same.

"What the hell are you doing here, Mr. Alvez?" Sam asked Hans firmly, but his response came in the form of a laugh.

He laughed as if he had won a game. A demon reveling in victory.

A game? It felt more like I was the one orchestrating the play, so why should he be the one declared the winner? I wouldn't allow that.

"Ms. Exelle Kim," Hans began, briefly bowing before continuing, "I mean, wife. Now that I've witnessed your reaction to those articles and seen you living with your best friend, Samara, in our former house, perhaps I cannot be mistaken in believing that you are indeed my wife, Xiellenna."

I know, right.

Seeing is believing.

I felt caught red-handed, as if I were a criminal myself
