As I sat in my office, the weight of recent events heavy on my mind, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Nothing happened, or so I told myself. But deep down, I knew there was more than just an act between Lex and me. Sam, my ever-observant friend, could see through my facade.

"You can't fool me, Xielle," she declared, her gaze fixed on me. "There's something going on between the two of you. You can't deceive me." I couldn't deny it any longer; Sam suspected that Lex and I had crossed a line, but the truth was, nothing had truly happened.

Defeated, I admitted, "Okay, fine. It's close to that situation, but we only kissed." I hoped that my confession would appease Sam's growing suspicion.
