Jessie’s POV

For some wives, the statement would have been swoon-worthy. To some others, it would’ve made them blush. But I was a different breed now.

My life was about to take a different course.

So I looked my husband in the eye, and rejected his offer, my gaze filled with determination as I walked away.

“How can you be so sure?” Gavin called out as I reached the door.

“You’re getting ahead of yourself, Gavin Pierre. You just got me a ring.”

That was all I said. That was all I needed to say.

Today, my todo list was the only thing I would pay attention to.

And the first thing on that list was to buy a house.

I didn’t need anyone to tell me what to do anymore.

“Jessie Pierre has taken the driving wheel of her life.” I muttered to myself as if the words in itself was to reaffirm my plans.

The day progressed quickly, one minute on another, and the sun began to set.
