91: The only constant thing

I had the evening off for the day because I didn’t have a shift at the cafe so I was currently scrolling through Netflix to find the next poor Kdrama I’d binge watch and obsess about.

However, my hopes of relaxation were thrown out of the window completely when mom barged into my room with a mischievous smile on her face.

Before she even opened her mouth to speak, I knew she was bound to ruin my evening.

“Good news, honey! I’ve asked Michael to join us for a family dinner next week and I can’t wait to immerse him into our lovely family!” she spread her hands in the air triumphantly as she dropped a literal grenade on me.

I angrily slammed my laptop shut and faced her head on.

“Really mom!? Why would you go around throwing invitations around to a man I’m barely dating? And worst of all, you didn’t think to involve me, a fully grown woman, in the decision to do so!?” I was absolutely irritated at her guts.
