T/w; Trauma story ahead. Read with caution.

The living room was silent as dad and I watched the large TV screen that had a movie playing in low volume. I nervously fidgeted with my hands as I tried to ignore the suffocating atmosphere that clearly filled the room. Dad didn't say anything but I could see that he was genuinely enjoying the movie.

I looked into the hall and my shoulders slumped in defeat when I saw that the kitchen door was still closed. Those guys had no plans on letting me in anytime soon, did they?

My father cleared his throat loudly and I looked at him. "Yes?"

"Are you that anxious to see what they are doing?" He asked with a soft smile and I did my best to relax.

"Uhm, yeah."

He nodded thoughtfully. "I wanted to ask if you had an idea."

"I just came back."

"From work?"

I shook my head. "From meeting my friends."

"I see."

"I went alone since I was having a t

THE DAY AT THE BEACH; The sun was high in the sky as we enjoyed the heat and relaxed on this perfect summer day. Ryan was practically gawking at every girl who walked in front of us that I couldn't help but tease him about it. "Your virgin aura is showing," I said with a laugh and Ryan glared at me. "I'm just looking," he defended."Your eyes are doing more than that." He looked at Henry and chuckled. "Check him out." Leaning back into the sand, I glanced at Henry and caught him staring at a girl. He rarely showed interest in strangers so, watching him be that captivated was surprising. Henry has been acting strange since we arrived but I was glad that someone caught his eye. "Are you interested?" I asked and Henry flinched before looking at me. "Interested in what?" He asked."The girl in a white bikini. You've been eyeing her for a while." "Oh? Are you crushing on her?" Ryan asked with a mischievous smirk. "You should talk to her." He shook his head. "That's not it." "Reall

The school bell rang, signaling the end of classes and saying that I felt relieved was an understatement. I quickly began to pack my books as I ignored the teacher at the front of the class rambling on about homework and giving a stiff warning to the people who didn't hand theirs in last time. I sat back and gazed out of the window at the students that poured into the parking lot and the urge to get home grew stronger. I didn't hate school. Infact, I liked it a fair lot. What I didn't like were the people. Especially the righteous, overly social type. The so-called "outgoing" type. No matter what I did to make myself less noticable, they'd always be people who would want to make friends with me. Despite the aloof air that I had around me, I was never bullied and I was grateful that my freedom wasn't tempered with by immature assholes. "Henry," Louis, a friend of mine, called as he laid his hand on my shoulder. "It's time to go." Looking around the class, I realised that only a hand

I smiled like a kid on a Christmas morning as I looked at the package on the bed in front of me. I stroked my chin thoughtfully as I went through all the safety precautions. Locked door? Checked! Closed windows with curtains fully closed? Checked! Phone set on 'Do not disturb' mode? Checked! Busy mom? Checked! Busy dude who's room was literally across from mine but was busy unpacking? CHECKED! I sighed in relief. My bedroom was my safe zone and my mother knew that more than anyone. I didn't allow anyone, not even my friends, into my room. Fortunately, my family was quite well to do and we had a small library downstairs so, I didn't have to make up an excuse of why I didn't want them in here. My bedroom was the only place that I could be myself fully. Without judgement or ridicule. It was tough getting my mom to stop coming here and I promised her to always keep my room tidy. I didn't go back on my word thou

My peaceful sleep was disturbed by the blaring of my alarm from my phone. I opened my eyes groggily to the sight of grey curtains and I stared at them in confusion. Sitting up, I stretched my arms over my head and yawned. I got my phone from the nightstand and switched off my alarm before looking at the time. It was six thirty in the morning. It took me a moment to realise that I was at Mrs. Young's house. It's been three days since I moved in and I was having a good time. Getting off of my bed, I pulled on a pair of sweatpants that hang low on my waist and left the room. Since none of the bedrooms, but for the parents room, had built in bathrooms, I had to use the one next to Henry's room. Entering the bathroom, I looked at my disheveled state in the mirror. My bed head wasn't much of a monstrosity and I was glad since I didn't want to spend too much time on it today. I got my toothbrush and added some toothpaste before working on my tee

The day was finally done and I felt quite fulfilled. Mr. Davison told me that I did a good job with my research and I was feeling the lawyer vibes already. The workload wasn't as much and having short conversations with Flynn and Maryanne when we had nothing to do was fun. Packing my stuff, I put on my bag pack and stood up before carrying a bottle of water that I was drinking earlier. I turned and saw that Flynn was still typing in some things in his laptop while Maryanne's seat was vacant. Since I was done, I decided to walk over and say my farewells. "Still busy?" I asked as I stood next to him. He leaned back into his chair and stretched his arms over his head. "Sort of. I just have to finish this and I'm done for the day." "Is it always this busy?" "Not usually. It mostly depends on who your supervisor is. Mine has a case coming up and I'm doing my best to help out." "Lucky you. I can't wait to witness a court

"I was so shocked when I watched it last night. I didn't expect it to be so good," I said to Louis over the phone. "I told you that it was. Why don't you ever believe my movie recommendations?" "No offense but the stuff you watch suck." "Gee, thanks," he said sarcastically and I laughed. I looked at my reflection and admired the cream white panties that I had on. I was currently in a white shirt and panties as I laid down on my bed and looked at how flattering they looked on me. I felt a little narcissistic by how much I kept looking at the mirror but I couldn't blame me. I was amazing to behold. It was Saturday morning and I woke up around seven because that was my body clock's schedule - alarm or not. I took a shower and in the middle of dressing up, Louis called and I abandoned further clothing. "By the way, wanna hang out today?" Louis asked as he chewed on something and I cringed at the sound.

"It was so cool how they found out that her own son killed her," Ryan said as his eyes practically sparkled. "I didn't expect that." "I know, right? I honestly thought that it was that weird neighbour that showed up at the most suspicious times," Louis agreed before looking at me. "What did you think, Henry?" "I actually found it quite anticlimactic," I said with a sigh as I slowly stirred my milkshake with a straw. Earlier, we had all agreed to watch a horror movie and I was looking forward to it despite trying to hide my excitement. It was my favourite genre, after all. Ryan was still impressed by Andre's appearance so, he sat next to him so that they could talk. I was happy to have avoided sitting with Andre but the movie swiftly killed my joy. What a waste of ten bucks. We were currently in a restaurant downstairs as the hot summer weather made us gobble up cold beverages relentlessly. Ryan and Andre sat acro

I huffed as I dropped my hands, giving up on my attempt to fix my tie, and grabbed my bag from my bed. I had dismantled everything by accident while I was putting it on earlier and putting it back together was tougher than I thought. Despite the summer vacation already starting, my school offered extra lessons in the morning for anybody who was willing. Being the sucker of knowledge that I was, I couldn't miss out on that. I also couldn't imagine being home all day so, I had to keep myself busy in a way that would benefit me at least. Opening my door, I got out of my room before locking it and heading into the kitchen. I was a little sad that Louis and Ryan weren't willing to join me for my summer classes. There were probably going to be a few people in class who were forced to attend them because of low grades. I entered the kitchen and poured some cereal into a bowl before adding milk and eating it. The house was very quiet so I figured that

"Where the heck are you?" I asked Louis over the phone while I looked around. We had agreed to hang out today and I had just arrived so, I was waiting for him. I would have followed him to the movie theater but the possibility of bumping into Ryan held me back. As much as I would love to talk to him, I was so high in my bubble of happiness that I wanted to stay away from anything that threatened to pop it. "I'm almost there. Just wait a little longer," he answered through pants. "Okay. I'm standing outside the arcade. Bring me a smoothie on your way here." "What? I'm already close to the arcade, dude." "There are plenty of shops behind you, right?" "Well, if a certain person chose to wait closer to the theater, I might've brought something for him." "Okay. We'll get something when you arrive." "Sure." He hang up and I put my phone into my pocket. I sighed. Ryan would usually get me these things without having to ask me. It was like he always knew what I was in the mood of. I

I kept my gaze on the ground as I thought of possible outcomes and reactions. Andre and I had just got out of the bus and the walk home was torturous. I kept my pace slow and Andre matched mine so that he wouldn't leave me behind. Saying that I was terrified was an understatement. My hands were shaking and my heart was pounding against my ribs. I talked to my mother yesterday to inform her of our arrival and she barely said a word. I didn't know what to expect. My father was obviously furious since I left without communicating but it was with reason. I couldn't risk jeopardizing my own plans if I said something. I heaved a heavy sigh and lifted my gaze to the house a few minutes away. It was now or never. I couldn't reach this far only to back out. "Calm down," Andre said with a gentle smile as we walked into the front porch. "I am calm," I retorted and he chuckled softly. "If you grip the straps of your bag any tighter, your knuckles will turn white." I loosened my grip. "Are

"Do you really have to leave?" I asked as I watched Andre pull on a black t-shirt."It's a group assignment so, I need to do it with them.""But I'll be so bored without you.""It's better than you waiting for me in the library with nothing to do.""What if I want to explore your school?""There's no problem in that but I won't have time to show you around.""This is boyfriend neglect."He chuckled and leaned down to give me a kiss. "I actually have your best interests at heart. My friends here aren't like Flynn and Maryanne. They'll be all over you.""But it'll be awkward.""It won't. I would actually love it if you got closer to my family.""I don't think that I can do that by myself.""You don't have a reason to be afraid of my parents though.""I don't but anybody would be nervous in front of their boyfriend's parents." I sat up when he got his bag from the top of the table. "Can't

I sat anxiously in the dining room as Darren stared at me. It was time for dinner and Andre and I joined them on the table. I never even considered having dinner with Andre's family and it was nerve wrecking.Everybody seemed relaxed as the began to fill their plates then there was Darren, who kept his eyes on me while making no attempt to get any food.Seeing that, like me, he was the only one who didn't know who I was. Everyone behaved familiar with me and he might have been feeling as left out as I did when Andre first joined us.I waved at him and he dropped his gaze to his plate, making me feel even more awkward."Does your brother hate me?" I whispered to Andre and he laughed."No. He's just curious.""I see." I looked at my plate and saw that he had put food on it. "Thanks.""No problem. You're okay with carrots, right?""I love them," I mumbled as I got a piece and put it in my mouth. He chuckled. "

"Okay, we'll see you later, man," Carlo, my classmate, said as we all stood up from the table that we were seated on and began to gather our things.Three classmates and I came for a group study at a cafe near school. My mind was way too distracted to study in solitude these past few days so, I invited my friends for this three hour afternoon session."Sure," I answered. "Don't forget to go through the documents that were released today.""No, problem," Susan answered."Should we meet again tomorrow?" Carlo asked.I shook my head. "Nope. I'll be busy.""You should say something when you're free.""I will. Anyway, it was nice meeting you guys.""It's been a while since we met like this." Thomas added on."Well, school's opening in less than two months so we have to put ourselves together.""I still haven't done my holiday assignment but I'll probably get it done before we enter next month."

I sighed as I put my phone aside. After Flynn gave me Andre's address, I've been trying to come up with an effective action plan.Flynn was right. What would I go there to do? Most importantly, how would I leave with my parents around? They obviously wouldn't let me and Mom would just get more upset if I disappeared. But I needed to see him and tell him something. Anything. I was scared that he would get angry with me and push me away, but did he really need to leave? Maybe this was a sign. We weren't meant to be and forgetting about him would probably be better.I groaned. I couldn't do that."How could you leave after changing my mindset, you piece of shit?" I muttered under my breath.I was currently seated in the locker room while I contemplated on all these things. It was my break and I didn't want to go out so, I came here to think in silence. From the money that I currently had, I didn't think that it was enough fo

I stared blankly at the ceiling as a frustrated sigh left my mouth. It felt like I was waiting for centuries and I was curious to know what they were talking about. I was currently laying on my bed as I let my thoughts wander. For every second that passed, my impatience grew even more. Why couldn't things be easier for us? Why did he let me leave? All these loops had my head spinning. My door suddenly swung open and I sat up quickly in hopes of it being Andre. Seeing my mother enter the room, I tensed up. "Where is Andre?" I asked and the look on her face made the knot in my stomach tighten even more. She was angry, I could see it clearly, but she also looked disappointed. As though I had crushed all of her hopes and dreams for me. "Honey," she began sternly, "I don't think that you and Andre should see each other anymore. I understand that your father and I haven't been the best of parents but this isn't
