Chapter:- 3

It's been a week since Alexander left the house and didn't come back. Samanath calls his assistant and find out that he is sleeping in his office. She tries call Alexander maybe five time in a day but eventually, she stopped.

Samantha gasped and let out a ragged sob. Her throat hurt and her knees ached from kneeling on the hard marble of the bathroom.

What was happening to him? This was the fourth time she has thrown up this week. Not only that, but she has also woken up almost every night in cold sweats and extremely disorientated.

Samantha's stomach twisted sharply once again, and he began to wretch into the porcelain toilet. Small sobs and gasps falling in between each twist of her stomach.

She slowly got up from her knees after her stomach settled. It didn't take long for her to reach her bedside table where her phone was charging. She grabbed it as she sat down on the bed. It was silent as the phone rang quietly, there was a click as the call went through.

"Hello, Samanath?" Samantha could hear Emily's voice ring out through the speaker.

"Em, I was calling to tell you I wouldn't join you today. I think I came down with the flu or something." Samanath answered his unspoken question.

"What?! Are you okay? What are your symptoms? Maybe I should take you to the hospital. We can close the dance st-" Emily started to ramble in a panic only to be cut off.

"Em! Calm down...it's nothing serious. Probably just a stomach bug. You worry too much."

"Of course, I worry Sammy. You know why..." Emily said only to trail off.

Samanath's heart froze for a split second at the insinuation. At the reminder of the man who broke her heart into a million pieces. The man she hasn't seen over a week. Samanath could barely stand the thought of him.

"Emily..." Samantha whispered out, all the laughter was gone from her voice.

"Samantha...I'm sorry. I shouldn't have mentioned that. I-I just want you to be okay." Emily sighed out sadly.

"I know...I know. I just don't want to talk about it, Em." She answered back.

"Alright, I understand. Just get better, okay?" Samantha said changing the topic which made Emily let out a sigh of relief.

"Anyways, I got to go. Mum calling me. Get better soon Sammy, love you!" Emily says ending the call with a big kiss.

Samantha giggles at her overzealous friend. She didn't even let her say goodbye.

Kate sighed tiredly; it was time to clean up the mess in the bathroom. She was not looking forward to this.

Samantha gasped as she abruptly woke up from her dream feeling incredibly nauseous and lightheaded. Her stomach twisted into the tightest knot making it hard to breathe.

Suddenly, the knot fell apart.

She stumbled off the bed. She ran towards the bathroom. She collapsed onto the ground in her own mess. She cried as her stomach cramped in pain. It felt like she was dying. She wanted to scream for help only to puke onto the floor again.

Samantha crawled towards the bedroom to call Emily. Emily would know what to do. She could always count on her best friend.

"Emily! I need your help! I don't feel good..." Samantha gasped out in one big breath before throwing up once again this time across the white carpet of her bedroom.

"O-okay! I am on my way!" Emily said quickly.

Samatha felt the phone fall from her grasp as she began to close her eyes. She was so tired. The room was spinning and everything was blurry.

Samantha could barely hear Emily screaming her name in the background. She heard her say that they was almost there when she finally passed out.

The black spots flickering across her vision becoming bigger and darker. Until everything was completely pitch black.

Samantha groaned, her body felt terribly sore. Every muscle and bone aching intensely. Every movement slow and reluctant. Even the simple movement of opening her eyes felt difficult.

With a lot of effort, Samantha opened her eyes only to close them immediately afterward. The room was blindingly white. It took a few seconds for Samantha's pupils to adjust to the sudden brightness.

"I'm glad to see you awake Mrs. Heiden." A smooth male voice suddenly spoke up.

"I'm sure you are wondering why you are here. Miss. Emily brought you in last night." Doctor said calmly.

Emily looked down in silence. Her thoughts racing a million miles per hour. She vaguely remembers calling Emily and Emily saying she was almost there.

"May I ask what is wrong with me?" Samantha eventually asked in a soft tone.

"You are almost two months pregnant." Doctor said calmly as if he didn't just drop the biggest bomb.

"Sammy...listen to me, it's me Emily." A familiar whispered into her ear soothingly.

Samanath took large inhales of Emily's familiar sweet smell. It had her calming down almost immediately. The panic in her head subsided as she opened her eyes to see Emily hovering above her.

Emily's eyes shone with concern and worry. Samantha tried to give her a smile, it came out shaky and small.

"I'm pregnant Em..." Samantha cried out, her vision becoming blurry with tears.

"I know, Sammy," Emily whispered.

"I know this wasn't what you envisioned. You envisioned having a baby with Alexander by your side. I know that. But you don't need him to raise this child. You have me." Emily said with fierce determination.

"And maybe this baby can save my marriage." Samantha cried in happiness.

Emily started laughing and not too long after, she knows Samanath need time to accept the truth but maybe she is right. This news and indeed save her marriage.

"Can you take me to Alexander company, I need to tell his this as soon as possible." Samantha request to her bestfriend.

She brought her small hand down onto her flat tummy. There was a baby growing inside of her right now. She was going to be a mother. Like she always wanted.

Samantha could only wish that Alexander was by her side. That Alexander could experience this with her. That Alexander and she could cherish this beautiful creation together.

Maybe, they still could.

Samantha groaned as she collapsed onto the soft white sofa. Her body was aching from long, she visits Alexander company with Emily, but her husband is out of town for some business. She told Emily go home as she take care of everything, and she try to contact Alexander.

Samantha closed her eyes in content to finally be off her feet. She just wanted to stay here, but she had to get up soon. The living room was dark and silent. She could fall asleep here comfortably if she wanted. Her breathing was just slowing down when the shrill sound of the phone ringing echoed throughout the house.

Samantha groaned in pure annoyance before getting up from the sofa. She walked around to where the telephone was.

Samantha looked down at the caller ID.

Unknown number.

"Hello?" Samanath said as soon as the cool plastic of the telephone touched her ear.

"Is Alexander there?" A deep familiar female voice spoke.

Who was this?

"No, he is still at work. You can leave a message if you want." Samantha said softly as she picked up a nearby pen and paper.

"Oh okay. Tell him he left his boxers and his wallet at my friend house last night. He was in a rush to get out of here, so he left them behind. I figure he needs his wallet at the very least..."

Samanath felt his heart drop. This woman couldn't be saying what she thought. Samanath felt like someone just pushed her into freezing cold water and won't let her up.

"W-why would Alexander leave his boxers at your house? Did you two have..." Samanath choked out, she couldn't finish the end of his sentence.

She trailed off.

"I don't think you have any right to ask me something like that. Who is this?" The woman demanded, her voice angry and defensive.

"I'm Alexander wife." Samanath nearly screamed out in equal amounts of fury and anguish.

She could feel tears begin to well up in the corners of her eyes, and her breathing quickened. She felt like she couldn't breathe as sobs threatened to overflow.

Nothing could be heard over the line, not even the unknown woman's breathing. The silence was killing Samantha as she waited for this woman's response.

After a minute or two of complete silence, Samanath thought that woman had hung up on her. Then she finally spoke up.

"But he proposes my friend last night and tell her he is going to give her wife divorce..."

Samanath didn't get time to hear the rest because the phone fell from her hand. It landed on the marble floor with a loud echoing bang. The back came off and the batteries rolled out, only to roll under the small table. The call ended.

Samanath could feel her world crumbling around her. The air seemed to escape her. She collapsed down onto the ground, her sobs constantly becoming stuck in her throat. Her whole body became numb as the cold seeped into her bones.

How could Alexander do this to her? Samanatha didn't understand.

And who is the woman, is she is her stepsister? And what happen to her child?

Suddenly a message pop up on her personal phone.

"I took good care of the man you stole from me. He said he never feels the same passion for you. You should be glad that you look like me otherwise Alexander will never take an eye on you."
