Chapter 8

*Navya Pov*

I am married! I am, in fact, married, and I thought it would feel magical. Nonetheless, except for the thought of belonging to someone and someone belonging to me, nothing is different.

Maybe that is because we still don't know that much about each other right, and I am kind of excited to get to know him more. This is what always made me want only arranged marriage in which everything just feels new.

"We are here!" I heard him, saying, which made me bring myself out of my thoughts.

I smiled and got down from his car. I looked in front of me to see a big reception hall, and my mood fell a little.

I don't want anything grand like this, and I actually loved the idea of getting married in the temple. That is very sweet and simple.

"Are you ok?" he asked, looking at me.

"Yeah! It's just that I don't like this grand reception idea." I replied honestly.

"Really? But your Di said that you would love it." He said frowning.

"Di loves it and I actually don't. But thank you for the sweet wedding in the temple. I couldn't ask for anything better than that." I said smiling at him.

He looked at me shocked for a few minutes but moved forward along with me. When we went inside I saw few people already in the hall.

Divya made both of us sit on chairs placed on the stage. After that, we talked to a few of my relatives and saw that everyone present is my relatives and family friends only.

"Where are your relatives?" I asked him in a whisper.

He looked at me blankly and replied "We don't have relatives."

"Ok!" I said and turned to talk to some other aunt who came near us.

"Ok? Are you not going to ask anything else?" He asked shocked.

I was about to reply, but stopped when I heard Divya shouting "Big Sis!"

"Divya! I am only one year older than you. How did I become the 'Big Sis'?" I heard one lady saying rolling her eyes, and I immediately know who is she.

"Su Di!" I said, smiling brightly at her.

"Navya!" She said coming near me and then continued saying, "I can't believe I am finally meeting you."

"I can't believe it too. And thanks for coming to the reception." I said, getting up and hugged her.

"You are looking beautiful dear." She said releasing me.

"Not more than you, dear wife." I heard a male voice coming from behind her and saw someone who is just looking like an American guy.

"You don't have to flatter her anymore as she is already your wife." Divya said teasing him.

"Hey, don't say anything to my husband. He is just sweet." Su Di said, looking at Matt with love.

"Are they a newly married couple?" Suhas asked from beside me.

They both heard and laughed at that comment. Matt turned towards me and said, "You definitely look like the girl having nature, my wife said about. And as for your question, we are actually going to have our third-year anniversary."

"Congrats!" We said to them both, and they nodded smiling.

"So Divya, when are you going to get married? Look at your friend, she is younger than you, but she is already married like me at the same age." Su Di asked looking at Divya.

"I will when the time comes." Divya said shrugging.

"Hmm... I need you to tell me all the details about this guy." Su Di said shocking us.

"How do you know?" Divya asked shocked.

"It is simple. When I used to talk about this before, you always skipped it changing the topic. But now you are actually giving me some answer. So there must be some boy who proved to be true by your question now." Su Di replied laughing.

"Always the cupid!" Matt said, shaking his head.

"Hey! We will just introduce ourselves. I am Mattew Harper, and she is my wife Suhani Harper. And Divya is Suhani's cousin." Matt said, shaking Suhas's hand.

They both started their own conversation, and I moved a little way to give them some privacy. We three talked and then I said how much delighted I am that they came here to give their blessings.

"I am so happy that Divya got a great friend like you and not some artificial as she got in New York." Su Di said smiling at me.

"I learned my lesson, Sis. That's why I got this jewel as my best friend even though I am three years older than her as her sister." Divya said and I just blushed at their compliments.

I cleared my throat and said, "What is here in age? It is only a number. The feelings are which that matters in any relation."

"You know? You completely sound like my husband." Su Di said shaking her head.

"So where are they? I am dying to meet them." Divya said excitingly.

"Su! My godson is asking for her mother." We heard two voices saying, and we turned to see the two ladies who are, of course, Americans coming towards us holding one-year-old baby boys with each.

"Matt! Can you hold one?" She asked, looking at Matt, but he is so engrossed in the conversation with Suhas that they didn't hear her.

"Mr.Eww..." She shouted at him, and he immediately turned towards her.

We all laughed at the name, and Suhas too looked at her in shock. Matt came near us, and they both took their babies from those two.

"Hey, Navya! Congrats dear." Mel Said coming near me.

"Thank you! And thanks for coming." I said, hugging her.

"Becks! Here is your ice cream like you asked." I heard and know that it must be Wilson. It must be her craving as she is eight months pregnant, and she is looking beautiful with the glow.

Then I saw another man coming towards Mel, and he must be Jack. We all talked for some time, and I felt so delighted to meet them finally after talking to them throughout this year.

"Why don't you guys have some food?" I asked them when I saw that many guests already had some food.

"What? We need to eat it here." Matt asked, looking at me shocked.

I got shocked feeling, I said something wrong and backed away only to be held by Suhas.

"Navya! Don't mind him. It's just he is still not used to all the spicy food, so he is just terrified about them." Su Di said assuring.

"That's because you and your Dad took the same revenge by pouring so much spice in my food. You both made me develop a phobia towards it." He said, huffing and we all laughed.

"Food will not be that much spicy, please have some for my sake." I said, assuring him and he smiled at me.

"Because you asked me, I would eat it." he said, and they all left to have some food.

During this whole time, Suhas didn't laugh at all and looks like he is in some thought. I wanted to ask him but again thought maybe he is thinking about our marriage.

Divya stayed back saying she needs to fulfill the duty as my best friend. I smiled at her and then searched for my family who is nowhere to be seen.

"Who are you searching for?" Suhas asked.

"For my family!" I replied and continued to look around.

"I will go and bring them." Divya said, moving away, but then we heard Di saying, "Bring whom?"

"Di! Where were you guys until now?" I asked her getting up and hugged her.

Then I saw my parents and Jiju coming towards us. I saw that they all are sad and Jiju is more wretched than them.

"Hey! Please don't be sad like that. Like I said I will always meet you all." I said smiling.

I turned towards Suhas asking him that is what going to be the case right. He didn't say anything but moved away saying he got some call.

I shrugged at his behavior and started talking to my family. Jiju walked towards me and asked, "So is he fine with you?"

"Until now, yeah! It is new right, so we both are kind of awkward with each other." I replied. I know I should talk about all these with my Di or Mom, but at the moment it felt like to do it with Jiju only.

He nodded like he understood and said, "I know I already told you so many times, but just remember that I am here if you feel to talk or say anything to me."

I nodded and then talked to Di and Mom about the arrangements. Actually, they talked about them, and I heard from them. I don't know why they both are acting weirdly.

Then my Dad, he just stood there with a completely blank expression like he is in shock or something. What is wrong with all these?

They must be so sad that I got married and are behaving like this. I felt tears forming a little because I will also miss them so much.

After they left to meet our relatives, Suhas came back looking annoyed. I moved near him and asked, "Are you ok?"

"Yeah! I am fine." He replied shrugging.

"Ok!" I said and he again looked at me shocked.

What? Should I say anything other than that? I thought confused.

"Navya! We are leaving." Su Di said, reaching near us.

"Already?" I asked her sadly.

"Hey! We will stay here for one week. I didn't get leave from the hospital this time." She replied holding my hand.

"I have an Idea. Why don't you both come to New York for your honeymoon?" Becks said grinning.

"Wha... What?" Suhas and I asked her stuttering.

"Please don't tell me you guys are not planning for it?" She asked, glaring at us and we both just stood silent because we don't have an answer for that.

"That's it! It's settled then. You both are coming there for it, and I will not hear any excuses." She said strictly.

"Becks! Leave the poor kids alone with your mood swings. But what she is saying is right. You guys should come there. I want to spend some more time with you." Su Di said.

I looked at Suhas expecting him to go along it. He looked at me for a few minutes and then sighed saying, "Ok! We will be there immediately when we get settled."

I grinned at him feeling happy that he accepted it. I turned towards them and hugged each and every member.

After some time, I got tired of getting up every time one person comes to wish us. Seeing this Aunty came near us and said, "We need to leave."

"Ok! I will just go and make one call." Saying this Suhas left.

"Navya! Where is Suhas?" Di asked and nodded politely at Aunty.

"He went to make some call." I replied, showing the direction he went. Then I told her calmly about the honeymoon plan, and she looked at me shocked.

"Ok! I will go and talk to him." She said, leaving me and walked towards that side.

And immediately Jiju came near me asking for Di. I pointed at the direction and told her that she went to have a talk with Suhas.

"But what does she want to talk to him?" He asked no one in particular.

"Maybe she is going to give 'Protective sister' speech. They both are friends right, so she may want to talk about me." I replied shrugging.

He shook his head and said, "Ok!". Then we walked in that direction only. I wanted to talk to Aunty, but she is nowhere to be found.

"What is this? Everyone is going missing by each passing second." Divya said, looking at all this.

I shrugged because I really don't know. It felt so awkward to stand there alone, so I came down and saw that all guests are leaving one by one.

Finally, when everyone left I walked towards the door along with Divya and my parents. After a few minutes, Aunty came and stood beside me, and then Jiju came with a hard expression.

I looked at him confused, but he is not looking at me at all. Like he is lost in his own thoughts, and I don't know what to do.

Then Di came and stood beside him with the same expression. Maybe they both are trying hard not to show how much sad they are.

Yeah! That must be it. I considered and looked at my parents. Then I felt someone holding my hand and turned to see that it is Suhas.

"Shall we go to our home?" He asked sweetly and then looked at Di and Jiju.

I nodded and left the hall after hugging my family one more time. I am going to miss them like they are going to miss me.

It must be so hard for them to get me married this soon. I am sure they would have waited a few more years if they don't think that Suhas is the best for me.

Suhas drove me and his Mom, and we finally reached the house. After walking towards the door, then it struck me that I didn't see his Dad, and he is not present with us at all.

I didn't look at the surroundings of the temple, and at the reception hall of the idea of him didn't struck to me.

All these thoughts jumped out of the window when it was time for me to enter this new home of mine.
