"Hey, feeling better?" Sebastian asked as Amber lift her head from bed.
Nodding languidly, the woman held her arid neck, "I want a drink."
Sebastian got her a glass of water. As the pregnant woman moistened her throat, he rubbed her head gently. "You don’t have fever anymore," he murmured in relief.
Wiping her mouth, Amber lowered her gaze. She did not want her sadness to be seen. "Thank you, Bas. I was able to get past this problem thanks to your help.”
"I didn't do anything, Amber," Sebastian sighed as he put the glass back on the table. Then, with faintly furrowed brows, he stared intently at his friend. "But, are you sure this problem is over?"
The woman was silent for a moment. Doubt had weighed on her mind.
“Adam must have thought I have turned to you. He won't dare ask me to come back to him again," she answered doubtfully.
