As soon as she opened the door, Amber stared into the void. There was no one kneeling there. There was only cold air and snow around the villa.
"Adam?" she called in a trembling voice. Bad thoughts had filled her head. What if her husband could not handle the heartbreak? What if the panic attack came? Or worse, what if the man was reckless again?
"No, Adam can't hurt himself," Amber sighed as she shook her head away from the fear. After swallowing the bitterness, she took a step following her intuition. "Adam? Adam!"
Unfortunately, no one answered. While panting, Amber continued to look around. However, the husband was nowhere to be seen. She did not know whether to be worried or relieved that her husband wasn't lying in the yard until suddenly, her eyes recognized the car parked beside her mother's.
