Chapter 39

Sarah’s pov

I stepped carefully down the stairs, turning towards the kitchen to make the tea that I would enjoy alone. When my eyes found Ethan sitting out there, I added water to the teapot to brew enough for two cups of tea.

While waiting for the water to boil, I prepared two cups on a tray and the accompanying cookies. I arranged them neatly, and then I was silent, stretching my arms on the edge of the kitchen table while looking at Ethan's back, sitting in the back garden.

"Is he busy working?" I muttered, watching him, craning my neck. I looked to the side to see what exactly he was doing, and I saw that he was sitting on his laptop. "So he's working on something?" My eyes shifted from the man, checking on the teapot that started making noise from the boiling water.

I gently lifted the teapot, poured the contents into both glasses with the same contents, and then stirred them. Carrying it along with the tray from there, heading to the same place Ethan was sitting. "You don't mind
