Sarah’s POV

"You know him, Ethan?" I looked at Ethan and Mr. Luke in turn. Mr. Luke was my boss at the place where I worked, and as far as I knew, I had never introduced the two, and they had never met either, so how could they know each other?

I noticed Ethan averting his gaze from Luke. He looked rather awkward, while Mr. Luke seemed to be avoiding my gaze. What exactly happened between them?

Ethan raised his hand and pointed at Luke with his open palm. "He and I are acquainted as patients. He is one of my patients."

I covered my mouth with my hand. "Ah, is that so?" My eyes widened, turning to Mr. Luke with a sympathetic face. "So you're sick, sir?"

I saw Mr. Luke's face staring at me hesitantly and not looking good. I immediately fell silent, the expression on his face making me wonder if maybe my question to him crossed the line. Could it be that his illness is a secret, and I made him feel awkward from earlier by asking them. "Ah, sorry. I shouldn't have asked, once again sorry
