Chapter 139: The Court's decision

Summer’s Point of View

“Prosecution, you may call your first witness,” the judge declared.

“Thank you, your Honor. I call to the stand Calvin Klein,” my attorney responded.

“Will the witness please stand to be sworn in by the bailiff?” the judge announced.

“To the witness, Calvin Klein, please raise your right hand. Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?” the bailiff said.

“I do.”

Calvin’s deliberate footsteps echoed through the room as he made his way to the front, causing my breath to hitch in my throat. The expressions on Mr. Klein and Amby’s faces revealed their surprise, and I could see Calvin’s father whispering to the lawyer. Their eyes shifted towards me, but I casually shrugged it off, my gaze fixed ahead. Uncertainty lingered, unsure if this man would also betray what he had witnessed.
