Chapter 142: Go home

Summer’s Point of View

I collapsed to the ground, my entire body trembling uncontrollably. As I glanced upwards, I saw a tall, white man peering down at me. He had a distinctive scar on his left eyebrow, but there was no denying his elegance and the air of wealth that surrounded him. Despite wearing a gray jacket, black pants, and white rubber shoes, he wasn’t appearing to be just an ordinary passerby.

With my demeanor still not calming, I slowly crawled back and nearly gasped as he squatted down to match our heights.

And then he asked, “Are you okay?”

I resisted the urge to reply, my attention now fixated on his countenance. The longer my gaze lingered, the stronger the sensation of familiarity washed over me, like a distant echo resurfacing.

After a minute of gazing at him, he let out a sigh, followed by a chuckle. “Listen, Miss. I have no intention of hurting you, okay?”
