Kayra’s POV

I sat on the couch in my apartment, feeling a strange sense of relief after being released from prison. But beneath that sense of relief was a haunting emptiness. Darwis sat beside me, holding my hand gently. He had always been there for me, but even his presence couldn’t completely erase the shadow of regret that clouded my heart.

As Darwis walked into the kitchen to make tea, my mind drifted back to moments past. The miscarriage I had experienced so long ago still felt so real, like a wound that hadn’t healed. I had lost our baby, a hope and a dream that had been shattered so easily. When I first found out I was pregnant, I felt so happy and hopeful.
